I've been here by invitation. You feel continuously the wind and a seabrise. Great fun but needs special maths... The locals are less friendly and speak all their native tongue. So I went on to the Golf of Knooke to have a decent meal with nice friends.

We had a great trip to Royal Ostend. The course is great fun and the people are very welcoming (a stark contrast to Royal Zoute). We followed a competition and enjoyed a sandwich & a chat with the President at the refreshment hut, even though we were nothing to do with his competition, very classy. The course is a little... The only real links course in Belgium. In itself not a difficult course, but when the wind blows, it's a different matter and it turns into one of the most difficult courses. And that happens quite often at the Belgian coast ... I was once told "when the wind blows, the swings slows", but why is that so counterintuitive?

Having played Royal Zoute we decided to try this course as it was only about 35 mins away and what a treat it was! As it is a links course you had the added variable wind element on what has been one of the best manicured courses I have ever played. Spectacular views and excellent greens really made our trip... Kind personnel certainly in the clubhouse. A course that demands concentration for about every shot, the rough is killing and for some it may be a ferocious "ball-eater"! The greens are very good, not easy to reed, sometimes challenging in length. The wind is very much in play on several holes! And of course, the nicer the view, the strongest... More

VIEWS : THE most BREATHTAKING view of all the Belgian golf courses at HOLE 8!!! RESTAURANT : fine BISTRO cuisine with VERY friendly managers, and if this wasn't enough... with a wonderful view on the course!!! HISTORY : Playing a round on the one and ONLY LINKS course in Belgium! Created by King Leopold II in 1903, it still has... More

This golf course is unique in Belgium, as it is the only true links around : in the dunes, right by the North Sea, exposed to the wind and the elements - as golf was meant to be. The club was established in 1903 but the course has been destroyed in both World Wars and then phoenix-like ressurected. The current... More

Great and friendly service with a beautiful sunset view on the gorgeous golf course. A hidden gem in De Haan.
