We happened to walk behind a school group and one of the teachers spoke English so we were given a translation of the caves. Even if you do not speak French these underground caves are quite something to behold.

Beautiful caves. The insignificance of us humans is really felt here because of the immense period of time it took for these caves to form. You can find fossils in the stone form when there was a sea there. The tour guide was not really enthousiastic but also there weren't many questions from the group. So he told his facts... More

Wow, that's the world :D First we visited park with animals, it's so nice to see them in their natural habitat, without cages. Very relaxing. Then we went to the cage and I was surprised how big and beautiful it is. Good place to visit. Village is also very charming, with old pretty buildings and small restaurant. Highly recommend.

Very large cave with huge atriums. Walk is about 2 km. Not much too see though and on downside there is no information in English at all. So if you don't know French or Dutch.. your loss. Very disappointing.

I was a bit reluctant to visit the animal park because most are quite sad, but at Han most of the animals have quite a lot of space (the bear and lynx are a bit cramped). Some are rescues who were either orphaned or injured and unable to survive in the wild. We walked the 5.5 km route and enjoyed... More

I've visited maybe 4 or 5 caves prior to visiting Han's caves and was definitely impressed by the size of Han's, you walk a long way inside and some rooms are huge!! But the calcium formations I've seen much prettier in other caves, also in Belgium (near Malmedy I believe). But Han is definitely worth a visit!

First cave for our 6 year so it was exciting for him. We have seen Lurey Cabe in Virginia so it was good enough. Worth a one time visit for sure. And they have a good show of light and sound inside the cave on the walls so it was fun.

It is a good day out with kids, you can fit it in a day - the grotte, animal park and playground. As for the grotte, it is a shame that there are no boat rides anymore though still pictured in some brochures. The animal park might best be done on the vehicle if with small children as it is... The best bit of this tourist town is definitely the grotto itself. You can choose to have a French or Dutch guided tour - 2km of well-lit and safe subterranean wonders - some with cathedral-like volume. There are a LOT of steps and appreciating the majesty of this place in respectful quiet tones adds to the atmosphere. Leave the under... More

this summer we decided to go visit some things in our own little belgium, one of the 'to do's' were the grotten van han. Very beautiful, and it makes you feel oh so small. Thinking it has been there for so much time, that it takes so much time to form,... Really pretty And a welcoming coolness (we were there... More
