We enjoyed the mandatory guided tour of this extensive cave system in the Ardennes. The tour takes about an hour, and we only had to wait half an hour for it to begin from the time of our arrival. The guide was very knowledgeable, and provided the tour in English, French and Dutch. The caves are beautiful and certainly worth... More

One of the most impressive caves I visited. The main cavern was 200m long and roughly 40m deep. Our guide was passionate about his job and very informative. He patiently explained everything in French, Flemish, and English. Allow 1 hour for the tour. Ticket was at 9.5 euros.

My teenagers and I were in a large mixed group of French and Flemish speakers that included: families with babies, toddlers and school aged children, middle aged people, elderly people, people with mobility issues and a dog. We don't speak much of either French or Flemish so guessed our way along on this tour as there was no option for... More

I loved the explanations we got, interesting geology lecture on the live example, knowledgeable and passionate speologist as a guide through this fascinating whim of nature born so many years ago. I would just try to go during the week for a more quiet experience, last Saturday the tours were very busy...

nice trip to the Hotton caves; all clearly explained; interesting story on how the cave was found many years ago and the story about the divers exploring the underground river: even kids listening with ears wide open.

The grottes are stunning. It is a must see when you are in the Region, you take a small Train into the grottes and a Little ship out of it. Besides there is a nice walk and a pet zoo.

These caves are absolute the most beautiful I have ever seen. Small and pretty. Lots of spectacular formations and big and tiny stalactites and stalagmites all over the small caves. Really, really worth the effort moving around inside these narrow caves!! Must see!!

The grotto is 70 meters deep. Our guide spoke in Flemish and English during our visit. I know he, also, speaks French. He was very knowledgeable about the structure, the geological time span, and the effects of water on the different levels. He explained about seashells, which are clearly visible, which have been imbedded in a shallow tropical river which... More
