I would guesstimate there are about 100,000 Buddha statues here. It’s quite a site to see all the huge statues surrounded by literal walls of tiny statues

This pagoda has to be seen to be believed. So many stupas on the roof that it looks like a pin cushion, garish paint on the exterior, neo classical archways and a wide hall with huge standing Buddhas at the entrance to each area in...More

The numbers of the Buddha images are endless. The idea was so amazing and unique. From outside the whole pagoda is shining.

We visited the Po Win Daung Caves and the Thanboddhay Pagoda in one day with our Tuk Tuk Driver Mr Htike. He knew so many very interesting places and he was able to explain the history behind. We can recommend Mr Htike very much, mr.htike145@gmail.com.

Seemingly endless imagery of the Buddha, this short trek outside of Monywa is a must-see. The entrance for foreigners is $2 or 3000 kyat.

Unfortunately got here at sunset so we couldn't actually go into the pagoda itself but this place really is amazing with mini Buddhas starting at you from every crevice and corner...not bad at night too as it's very magical with the lights on!

This place was almost like a park full of temples. It was really interesting to see all the different shapes and sizes from Buddhist looking ones to Hindu looking ones. Deffo worth a stop from/to the reclining buddha.

One of the famous pagoda in Monywa and drive about five minutes to Bodhi Tahtaung Pagoda. Situated on the way to Mandalay. It is one of the pagoda you should not miss in your visit to Monywa.
