Not as packed with large mammals as its siblings in the northern circuit, but way more exciting! As before we had the park entirely to our selves, driving for hours, days without meeting or hearing another vehicle. The main roads are in good shape. The smaller roads are often not more than diffuse tire tracks in the grass or among... More

We have camped here number of times, last time in March. Although it cannot compete with the busy parks further up north, Mkomazi offers something quite different to rest of the parks - a privacy. On our last visit, we have stayed for three nights, camping at the main park campsite and apart from odd park vehicle, we have not... More

Mkomazi is a hidden gem of a National park. It can't compete with the more well known parks in the Northern circuit, but if you want a feel of real wilderness away from the crowds of tourists, then this is the place to go. Mkomazi was a neglected game reserve since 1951, elevated to National Park in 1989. By then... More

This beautiful park, lies between Tanga and Kilimanjaro, 3 hours driving from Moshi, If you want to see the most of it with fewer tourists in the park, go to Mkomazi, almost all animals are found in this park, Also our clients competed on sport fishing within the park, Mkomazi is a vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the... Many people say that Mkomazi is not a good park - what a mistake! It's great! Yes, it is very dry, but this apparently attracts the lesser Kudu - we saw really plenty of them, but of course you have to watch careful between the branches. In the evening we encountered a big herd of zebras and elands together just... More

Out of the way park, very large w. very few visitors. Although there are plenty of animals, they aren't concentrated therefore somewhat disappointing after Arusha, Manyara, Tarangire and the other parks of the Northern circuit. That being said, still plenty to see WITHOUT lines of safari vehicles and dust! Abundant avian species for birdwatchers. The visit to see the rhinos... More

Disappointing! As large as the park is there is a small area to travel and site see. The Rhinos are not there as they are being kept in an area for breeding purposes.
