You should take 2-3 days and go all the way around Velebit, never skip Zavizanj, Alan, Botanic Garden on Zavižanj and both educational paths. For 45Kn it's very cheap ..

In case you are looking at various options for hiking trips in Croatia, I highly recommend Velebit. Its numerous access points and trails offer many choices. Northern Velebit is a gem, Premužićeva Trail an easy and accessible path. Enyoj!
