Mali Alan Pass is a mountain pass located in the southern part of the Velebit Mountains (Croatia), at an elevation of 1,045m above sea level. Road was opened on October, 1832, built by Major Kajetan Knezic (1786-1848) famous engineer and road builder. Before arriving to the peak, there’s another construction through the trail. Is called Tulove grede, and an old... More

If you love nature and mountains this is place you have to visit. There are 2 national parks and famous Premužić’s Trail going through mountain. Words simply cannot express or describe how beautiful it is. Just go and enjoy and you will be coming back as I am doing. I hope pictures will show partly beauty of the nature. And... More

Some fantastic motorbiking roads through the national park made for a really good trip. Astonishingly, from over 4000ft above sea level the coast is only half an hour away down a dramatic twisting road. The park is an enormous and beautiful wonder of nature which would take a lifetime to explore fully but needs to be seen to be believed.

Not far from the far more famous and infinitely more popular national park of Plitvice, but unfortuntely overlooked and underrated. Or maybe this is not such a bad thing, because the nature is pristine, not destroyed by crowds, and really peaceful (not to imply that Plitvice are overrated, definitely not!). You can make the village of Krasno your starting point,... More

We went for a hike and took the red trail, starting at the café and up to the big mountain. Maybe we didn't inform ourselfs enough but we didn't expected that much of a hike! It's all big rocks, you have to get up and down with hands and feet and ended up climbing 3 mountain tops and exhausted ourselves.... More

Picture cannot do this justice. We walked on a cool day with light showers. The walk is on well marked rocky paths through stunning scenery.

I've been there several times, I make it a point to visit at least once a year. Glorious vistas wherever you turn. The botanical garden is best viewed in spring or summer. The people in the mountain house are always very welcoming, but if you plan to stay a couple of nights, call ahead. You can park your car in... More

Surely one of the most beautiful places in Croatia - been there more than ten times. Weather you just want to sit and drink beer on Zavižan (with elevation of 1645 m), visit Zavižan botanical garden, Hajdučki and Rožanski kukovi, take a look from one of many peaks or do the hiking tour - it’s place to be. It has... More

Trees, trees and more trees! Some amazing views over the sea, but a lot of the park is woodland, with no other outlook

Visited Velebit National Park in September. A friend and I did some hiking while staying overnight at the hostel. The view takes your breath away. You can see the islands and the sea. This is a must for all outdoor hikers.
