- NZBunnyAuckland, New Zealand124 contributionsAlways visit local marketsA trip to the sunshine Coast should involve the markets. We have been lots of times during visits, this time we were quite disappointed that many spaces were vacant and the clothes especially that were on offer were also available from shops locally. it was still fun to visit but we didn't buy this time. There was hardly any fresh food/fruuit/veg etc. so for a Saturday market it was a bit underwhelming.Hi NZBunny Thank you for visiting us. Sorry to read your day didn’t meet your expectations. There are many areas and other markets on at the same time as the Original Eumundi Markets however those that sit within ours do come under the ‘Make it, Bake it, Grow it, Sew it’ ethos. Many thanks OEM TeamWritten 3 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 April 2023
- Fam5erNorth Island, New Zealand39 contributionsGreat market but we were stung by parkingThis market is one of the best we have ever been to. We purchased some wonderful items, produce & food and I could have stayed the entire day but the teenage boys were ready to move on after a couple of hours. Unfortunately we were disappointed to realise we had received a steep parking ticket for our couple of hours of enjoying the market ($70 plus a $60 "fee" from the rental car company 😒) when we returned to NZ. We did check carefully when we parked and couldn't see a no parking or time restricted sign. I have emailed the local council to ask where this sign is.Hi fam5er Thank you for visiting us. We're glad you enjoyed your visit. Sorry to hear about your parking ticket. Unfortunately it is only a 2 hour limit in street parking. Hopefully council will come back to you. Next time you visit, there are parking areas which are managed by local community groups. It's $9 all day. - javery67Hunter Valley, Australia204 contributionsNot So OriginalHave visited here many times but it seems to be losing its "market" appeal. The stalls are set out a little more orderly but many of them sell products you could buy pretty much anywhere and for prices in a high street shop. You just don't see the "bargains" you used to. The highlight is still the fresh salt and pepper calamari for lunch which I consider as good as you'll get anywhere. Worth a visit if you love markets.Hi javery67 Thank you for visiting us. Depending on the day you visit the Original Eumundi Markets area can vary. Our new swirl banners indicate where our stall holders are and who follow the ‘Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It’ ethos. Unfortunately we can’t control those stall holders outside this area. The calamari is definitely a favourite of visitors (and our team). - Sandra C1 contributionEumundi Parking is a Lie!My husband and I visited the Wednesday Markets on 30/08/23 and had a wonderful time looking around, but our experience has been soured by a parking fine. We parked in a park near the school that said it was a 15 minute parking spot, except for Wed and Sat days were 2 hours. So, we parked in one of these spots and ensured we left before the 2 hours was up. But we still received a parking fine. Great way to treat your visitors Eumundi, this is the last time we will be visiting.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 September 2023

We wandered for the morning and picked up a few souvenirs of our trip. Plan to get there early as the stalls close up around 2pm. There is limited parking and a fee of $9 to park as long as you like. No cash just tap n go. Could have spent more money than we did!Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 October 2023

First time here for one of us. Great market. Parking in the parking area was well worth the $9, so organised and right across the road. Go early as it gets busy. So many stalls and food vendors galore to choose from a great variety.

Really enjoyed our visit to the markets but wished we had gotten here earlier as it was busy (arrived at 9.30). Parking was managed by one of the local charities and does cost but you’re right next door to the markets so less time spent walking in the heat. Stalls selling handmade candles, jewellery, home wares, dog wares etc etc. Lots of great food options and places to sit whilst enjoying the entertainment.

Eumundi market is massive - I think as big as any market I have been in, both in Australia and overseas. You can buy virtually anything and everything - there are rows after rows of stalls selling clothing, souvenirs, food items, health products and all sorts of exotica. Not much in the way of 'trash or treasure' though, a definite plus. While the market is huge, it is also worth checking out the shops in Eumundi's short main street, which is right besides the market. There are cosy (and chic) cafes, a classic pub, an excellent bookshop and two very well organised charity stores, where perhaps the best bargains could be had.

Excellent way to spend a whole Saturday morning. Get there early, pay the $9 for parking and then just enjoy exploring all the food and craft options in the glorious weather. A must do

Fabulous market, great street food and a real variety of well priced goods to peruse and buy, finished of with a cool drink in the hotel when the market wrapped up at 2pm. We went as three couples and used an airport transfer company to take us their and back from Caloundra which was perfect as we’d heard that parking was a bit of a nightmare on market days.

Saturday morning visit to Eumundi market is a must. There are plenty of hand made items - jewellery, candles, pottery; remedies for aches and pain; pet treats and accessories; photographic art work, artisan handicrafts, fresh produce, crochet baby items, delicious food to buy and take home. Fresh food to eat - all varieties and all delicious. Plenty of room to sit and accessible for all

It was great markets and all, i do really recommend it but we were travelling in a van and just found out we can’t go in but we had a disabled member with us and the worker at the parking lot said we clearly can’t read, and wouldn’t even let stop to drop her off, he was arrogant and rude. but other then that the markets were big and had a wide range of things to get!

Hi Maddie
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with parking.
Parking is managed by local Eumundi charity groups, we will pass on your feedback to them.
We’re glad you visited the markets and had a great time despite the parking.

There were heaps of kids at the market today but it was sunny. There are parts of the market that are covered but the majority isn’t . Hope this helps.

It's not actually under cover - the stalls are typical stalls that are under canvas but the walk ways are open. Where there are small shops to the side of the market there is some cover but not much. Access is fine for toddlers especially if you have a push chair. Hope that helps. We went there on a lousy day with our three year old and eight week old granddaughters and managed OK
