Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wish the owner could make up his mind. Online it said open so we travelled 23 km from Ballarat to find a closed notice on the gate. Rang the advertised mobile number - no response, so drove the 23 km back to Ballarat. Not happy.

Being close to Ballarat means Eastern Peake specialises in cool climate wines like a pinot noir. The winery is not about high volume sales of young wine, they produce a quality wine for around $30 a bottle. In spring the green landscape makes for a lovely drive. We enjoyed Norm providing both tastings and philosophy!

We took a group of friends to the winery and Norm Latta was an excellent host with great knowledge of the local wine history and the development of his own and other wineries in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines and the tasting experience and were able to choose wines to suit our individual tastes. The lovely friendly dogs added to our enjoyment.

Situated on its own about 30 minutes from Ballarat, this winery produces a good range of whites and red. Organic with minimal SO2 and natural yeast. Minimilist cellar door in a glass house style room

Gorgeous wines from both labels very flavoursome and unique, we found it difficult to choose a few to bring home. Norman Latta was a very laid back host full of information at the drop of a question willing to go on!

When you drive up the windy driveway the views take your breath away.
A cute dog comes running for a pat and you are greeted as you walk through the door.
This alone will make you come back. Though I can't forget about the wine and the generous "tastings."
I am not an everyday red wine drinker but this wine warmed the soul, was easy to drink and could tell it was made with love.
A family run business, which when we drove away, I felt like I was part of that family.

Pinot heaven!

No SO2 range also heavenly!

Super premium wine which has been minimally handled so as to express the terroir and allow the liquid sunshine to have its voice, truly delightful

Great hospitality from Norm and Owen, plus a warm welcome from the extended (canine) family

Beautiful outlook of the surrounding valley and vines

No negatives

Pleasant time chatting with Norm who has spent most of his life in the wine industry. A beaut selection of boutique wines made on site. Lovely vista across the plains from the cellar door which can also do weddings and functions.
Not bulk production and prices reflect this. Will return. Don't forget to say hi to Yoda the dog!

The Eastern Peake vineyard is simply a must visit in the area. We met Owen on NYE and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality tasting we did: a beautiful and distinct Chardonnay, a very promising Pinot Noir 2013 and the special Pinot Noir O.B. 2011. You can feel the passion and love for his craft when Owen talks about what he does... and this get reflected in some great quality wines. Highly recommend the visit...

Norm Latta started the Pinot legend of Ballarat, and the winemaking has now passed to son Owen. The quality and flavour remains unchanged, and is nothing short of sensational. Do not arrive expecting a "cheap" Pinot, because in the world of Pinot Noir "good" or "great" does not equate with "cheap". Some of these gems can be drunk now, but can also survive for many years in a suitable cellar, for a truly memorable future experience.
