A level grass area on the top of a hill between 2 interesting temple like structures. The whole area has views down to Rievaulx Abbey nestling in the valley bottom. The "temple" nearest the entrance was open the afternoon we went and a guide was...More

National Trust Property where you walk about a mile and get to see a nice Temple. Great views out to the surrounding area as well as to the Rievaulx Abbey below. Be aware that you might want to have a bite to eat in Helmsley...More

I thoroughly enjoyed the visit here. Not a large property, but easy to while away the time if the weather is fine! Very friendly and helpful staff members. We started the walk in 1 of the temples before it closed and the volunteer was passionate...More

Overlooking Rievaulx Abbey we had a nice walk in the woods and grassed areas. There are a number of sculptures on view which gives the Terrace a bit of atmosphere in addition to the two "temples" on either side of the Terrace.

Even if you avoid the National Trust charging extra for Gift Aid and pay the basic ticket price, this is still expensive for what is a mile walk through woods (there are a few activities for children in the woods), a selection of views over...More

Really, really helpful National Trust staff, plenty of surprises, some great modern sculpture and magnificent views to the Abbey. If you're a National Trust member, don't give your money to the 'enemy' (English Heritage!), just go here. Seriously, this was a splendid visit. It takes...More
