fantastic morning! We were so lucky to get such a sunny day in late September and the water was so calm. Our skipper told us loads about the history of the local area before we had even left the harbour and explained where we were going to go, after taking us through all the health and safety point.

We saw the first pod of dolphins about 10 mins in, he knew exactly where to look and what to look for. We stayed alongside them for a little while, like someone else has mentioned he was very respectful that of the wildlife and of us being in their environment so when they swam in another direction we didn’t follow, allowing us a chance to have a look at some other things, some beautiful sea birds.

We then came across a second pod of about 15/20 and these came right up the to boat swimming alongside us for a good 20 minutes. Rob answered lots of questions about them, it was honestly the most incredible and humbling experience.
We then left them alone to go and see some newborn baby grey seals, a peregrine falcon, and tour the beautiful coastline too.

Thank you for a wonderful morning and the highlight of our year!

We had such a good time on this trip, we were very lucky to have the most perfect conditions, it was such a clear bright day and the water was very calm. We did manage to see two pods of dolphins, one of which even had a little calf! This was a priceless experience to see them in the wild! I even heard them talking to each other as the went under the boat.

We did the two hour trip and it was just fantastic, Rob was very informative! We had trouble finding the dolphins at first but we said it would have been worth the trip even if we didn't see them as it was just so tranquil and nice to see the whole bay from a different view. We saw quite a few different birds and Rob talked us through all of them, and also a lot of the geology of the area which was really cool! Would highly recommend and all my other friends and family who have seen the pictures and videos want to book too so I think we might just be back a few more times this year!

For anyone worried if it too fast or anything, we did have perfect conditions so I can't comment on weather but I did feel very safe on the boat and even when we were going quite fast it didn't really feel it and it wasn't bumpy really! You do stop quite a lot to scan for the wildlife and Rob was very clear from the start if you needed to stop for any reason he would so that was very comforting.

Overall very professional, friendly and amazing experience!

Thank you Rob.

An amazing trip out with Rob and Devon Sea Safari! Rob was very knowledgable, gave us a safety briefing, helped us put on our life jackets before giving us a quick overview of where we were going. Due to Covid there were less people on the boat but all given antibac gel before getting on and it felt very safe.
Went slowly out of the harbour then into the open water... then the fun began! Kids (aged 10 and 12) absolutely loved the fast bits and going over the waves and turns - adults too! Rob stopped the boat on lots of occasions to point out the local wildlife and give us some information about the scenery and history. Such a fantastic trip, cannot recommend highly enough! Thanks Rob!!!

We went on the two hour trip from 8.30 in the morning. Covid restrictions applied so there were only six passengers in order to provide social distancing. As we were ready a little early the skipper set off which gave us extra trip time. He was friendly and knowledgeable and was always looking for every opportunity to see marine wildlife. We had a wonderful trip and saw several pods of dolphins and also some porpoise.

Really impressed. The trip was great fun and felt very safe. As my son said (as he threw his arms up in the air), 'This is why I was born!' Rob clearly knows his local history, so was able to point out places of interest. All of our group, aged between 9 and late 60s, agreed that we'd like to rebook again next year.

The sea was a bit choppy, so we didn't see dolphins, but it made the ride more fun. Lots of laughter. A great day out.

I contacted Rob (skipper) a week or so ago to try and squeeze us onto one of his trips. He was booked out however managed to get us on to a trip this weekend. we all met at Fish Quay and boarded the Rib. very informative and followed all covid guidlines from what i could make out. we were briefed thoroughly and then we were off. one family even brought their dog whom was perfectly behaved the complete trip!!

from the moment we pulled away Rob highlighted a number of historic features and facts to us and you could tell it wasnt scripted. a genuine wealth of interesting knowledge of the complete area.

we were on the boat around an hour which for us was perfect. if was fast when he could be and slow and inside caves also. we went up to the side of one of the P and O which was breathtaking and something we really wasnt expecting.

we only saw the nose of a seal and some specific birds however it really didnt matter, yes it would have been lovely to sea dolphins but just to include this excursion and see that stunning part of the world from a different aspect for us made our staycation!!

i know Rob doesnt need this review as you can see hes so popular already but i felt i had to write something to say thanks and hopefully i will be down again soon and will try another of his tours.

many thanks

We caught the sea safari from Brixham. We had a great time. The captain was so kind to our 2 year old, chatting to him about boats and ocean animals. He supervised him for a few minutes so we could photograph some porpoises and even introduced him to the skipper. We saw plenty of wildlife and the captain was very knowledgeable and informative about the wildlife and local area. I would recommend this as a fun trip for families and friends alike and thought it was good value for money.

This was our 4th outing with Rob and the Devon Sea Safari. Rob is a brilliant skipper. The trip feels completely safe and his knowledge of wildlife is outstanding. This time we saw dolphins, seals and peregrine falcons to name a few! His sensitivity around the dolphin pods is exemplary and the safety and security of all the wildlife is his primary concern. I can highly recommend this trip and we will definitely be back!

Do not think this will cost you an arm and a leg. A meal in a restuarant would cost more. Don't get me wrong and think low cost means low service, it is the other end of the scale. You get an experienced skipper who know his boat, which is spotless, knows the sea, knows the wild life both in the sea and on the cliffs.
We went during lockdown easing and arrived at the Quay at 8am. Rob,the skipper, was cleaning and sanitising the boat, steps, hand touch points, seats and life jackets. He did this again when we berthed after the most fantastic 2 hour journey.

I would advise the 2 hour tour as you get to do all the things there are in the other tours but with less haste.
I am born and bred in Devon but to see the coastline from a sea view is stunning.
You can spend 2 hours of your holiday down here walking about the streets and shops or you can go on this tour and have a great time.
We are already thinking of going again.

We did the 2 hour Marine Wildlife Trip which was excellent. We were blessed with fabulous weather and although we didn’t find any dolphins, there was plenty of other wildlife including harbour porpoises, fulmars, peregrine falcons and a seal. Rob the skipper is extremely knowledgeable and his commentary and knowledge of the local area and it’s history was amazing and we learnt loads even though we live locally. And to top it all you really can’t beat skimming across the waves in such a fabulous rib. Exhilarating.
We have booked again in August to take our eldest grandchild and we can’t wait.
Thanks Rob for such a great experience
