Deep in the forests of Var is this historic gem, awell preserved cistercien Abbey built in the 12th century. The site is beautifully restored, and a visit gives a great opportunity to learn about how monks lived a thousand years ago.

you can really feel history when you walk through the beautiful buildings. Would love to have the chance to take part in a service in the very nice church on sundays.

Check opening and closing times before you set out. They say they close at 6.30 pm but we, and another family, were turned away at 5.55 pm despite having checked on their website first.

A cool oasis on a warm day. Walk peacefully through ancient cloisters and stone halls. An hour covers the site well, try to avoid being caught in the proximity of tour groups as the acoustics are such that this ruins the tranquility of the spaces.
