Ofcourse, one visits Porbandar to see Gandhiji's birthplace which is decently maintained. However, the approach road is pathetic and it seems that Gandhiji's swach bharat abhyan is completely lost on this small town. You cannot reach this without the GPS which has limited use when there is repair work going on in the middle of the road in the middle... More

The place is beautifully maintained in the dirty by-lanes of Porbandar. A place of great historical significance, where Mahatma Gandhi was born and where he spent his early childhood gives you goosebumps. The place also has a souvenir shop and an extensive photo gallery. Worth a visit

This is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. The two century old two storied residential accommodation of Mahatma Gandhi's ancestors is well preserved. This was the house where Mahatma Gandhi was born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. There is a library maintained in the name of Kasturba Gandhi. Place is well maintained, but could be made a ;ittle more accessible. The... More

Kirti Mandir in Porbander is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Located in congested part of the city, the building needs to be developed as a tourist attraction. The place has great history associated with it. Kasturba's birthplace is very close to Kirti Mandir. It takes time to go around and see the place.

This place is very badly maintained.. Especially road that goes to this location is full of dust and mist. Parking is obviously a big problem Complaints apart, once you get in the house, it gives out a glimpse of old style of living with the help of pictures and house which MK Gandhi stayed.

Good collection of Gandhijis memories. One could visualise how remarkable our father of the Nation lived. Such simplicity, love and compassion. The city is very poorly maintained. Even the approach to kirti Mandir was very dirty and stinking with host of small vendors occyping most of the road. It is a pity that such an important mandir and a good... More

An imposing yellow three storied house and birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi is a must visit. A Swastik mark on the floor denotes the exact place where the Father of the National was born. A walk through the various rooms typical of homes of times gone by is a wonderful experience. A library has books of his life and works and... More

Anybody would want to visit the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhiji. The nearest parking is near Sudama temple and then the walk through the market is like walking in Europe, albeit with humans in abundance and filth in abundance too... that bustling of life is what India is all about though. If one forgets how people scream and talk even within... More
