Would not usually be that interested in a bridge but this was an exception. The outside stone work was excellent, especially viewed from the Rochester side.

Rather than driving this bridge, it is well worth parking in Strood and making the effort to walk the Bridge into Rochester at least once. The upkeep of the Bridge (I am reliably informed) is undertaken by a charitable trust. We found the structure interesting....More

but this one leaves me a little perplexed, it's like it's been built and rebuilt over many centuries with each architect trying to erase what the previous one added! A bit messy!More

We're sorry to hear you think the structure of our bridges is a bit messy. The Old Bridge has indeed been rebuilt, just over 100 years ago, when the deck was raised and the bowstring trusses installed to make it easier for ships to travel...More

Well past it's use as a main road through to strood, being only two lanes one of which is for vehicles turning right causing long queues, needs a slip road to Knights Road/

This bridge is simply amazing when it’s not absolutely packed with traffic. Great views for commuters
