It's nice but you can't walk around a lot of it as its under construction. Free entry and there is a short film for you to watch about the history of the castle.

Dungarvan Castle is an so so castle brought alive by the information on the history of successive occupiers down through the ages. I thought the short film was particularly good at explaining Anglo Irish relationships.

Well worth a visit, located close to Dungarvan harbour. The admittance is free and you will find a very informative exhibition of the castles past. Strolling the castle grounds you will find the impressive remains of the once central shell-castle. Ongoing restorative works prevent entering...More

The castle is ageing gracefully, so magnificent and I was truly inspired by the history behind it, the remainings and what was once a police station

There was motor-home parking quite close by at 'The Lookout' and near the park, I'm not sure if that's still the case?

Hi, Depends on the experience. Having a meal, ask for the bill when you are ready to go otherwise you could be waiting a long time. At a bar,you get billed as soon as you get your drinks. Hope this helps.
