This museum is particularly interesting for items of local history. The dedicated team there put huge effort into making sure that there is a core exhibition of general interest plus they do one off specific exhibitions at various times of the year. They also hold very interesting talks on a variety of subjects for a small nominal charge. Admission to... More

This is the place to go to learn about Ireland's history---original photos, artifacts, engaging displays, and exhibits. It's a charming museum that allows you to go back in time to appreciate Irish history and heritage. I arrived not knowing a great deal about Ireland's history and left with a good understanding of the events that shaped the country's culture, heritage,... More

I cannot say enough about the Waterford County Museum! It is a wholly inclusive account of the history of Dungarvan, with beautiful displays and artifacts filling the entire space. Every display is beautifully staged with a description providing even more history and context. And that is just the museum itself. The people are what really make the museum shine! The... More

The County Museum has free entry and engaging staff which was a great start, it was further enhanced by it's varied and interesting contents. It even boasted a little kids corner where I left my two to play with the toys while I went back to further examine an exhibit The museum wouldn't be out of place in a larger... More

This museum has been carefully laid out to take you from pre-history to the current day with particular reference to the local area. There was just the right amount of information to explain, in particular the 19th and 20th century events leading up to independence. Fascinating and well worth the time - free entry!
