At the time of Pliny, during the Roman Empire, Peschiera was called Arilica and had already a considerable importance. Later, in the next centuries, it was fortified by the Scaligeri, by Venice, Austria and Italy. The walls were designed by famous...more
The area around the lake itself is stunning. Relaxed vibes and beautiful scenery BUT be careful of your belongings.
We parked our car in a public carpark for an hour whilst we had a drink before driving to our hotel and came back to discover...More

it is a rare case that happens sometime.. not a regular fact. i am sorry, hope you will find back all stolen items.
We arrived by train from Desenzano and returned by public bus - both easy to use and cheap travel. Headed for the tourism office where the attendant was very helpful. Took the self-guided walking tour around the fortified area which also included the mid-pm guided...More
This little town is definitely worth a visit for a few days. We came for the one night as we travel around Italy, but there is quite a lot we wish we had of done.

The Walls of Peschiera look amazing and we had a lovely time walking around the town, window shopping and going for coffee. Plenty of shops to choose from and also lovely stalls that offer food, local produce, souvenirs and clothes.

But it's still a nice place for a stroll through the narrow shopping streets.
This will have been my 3rd visit to Peschiera and I love it, stunning views from the lake, amazing town with lots of places to eat and have a drink, there is boat tours, prison tours, museum, shopping, markets, and the locals are very friendly,...More

Lots of nationalities and families wandering around, plenty of restaurants to cater and interesting walls and fortifications. Good holiday destination and central for all areas from Venice to Lake Iseo and Riva and Monte Baldo to north. Even a day trip to Dolomites is possible.
When I told Verona locals I was going to Peschiera, all of them said "OK, but....". There are many other places along the lake that are better than Peschiera. It is worth a quick look at the old town behind the walls, but if you...More
