seeing so many odd reviews, I want to start with the boat part of the trip. We sailed on the King Saron, a three level ferry if I remember correctly. A/C was on but doors remained open to Afterallow appropriate flow of air. As busy as the boat was, seating was marked as out of use to spread people as best as they can. Obviously this is an impossible task when you consider how many passengers there are, but the crew monitored it and seemed to keep on top of things. The same goes for masks; passengers flouting the rule were told in no uncertain terms to follow the guidelines. I think some people assume the rules here are as in their own country. Having checked the Greek government guidance, (I work in H&S so yes, I am that sad) I can honestly say they did a sterling job. Before boarding, our temperatures were taken and a contact form was completed. Add the copious amounts of sanitiser available and they can't do more.

Organisation was simple (we were an unguided trip) and consisted of a board that told you the return time and a ticket that you kept all day and flashed to get back on board. Simple and effective.

The schedule has gone out the window, so the trip consisted of a bus journey from the main road (not our hotel which is tucked away), an hour on the boat to Symi followed by almost five hours of exploring and eating. Back on the boat for a half hour switch to the monastery. One and a half hours later, back on the boat for trip back and dropped off for 7pm.

Boat Staff were friendly; bus driver was polite and helpful.

Thus is a good company to deal with if you're looking for clear instruction and low risk of getting your timings wrong.

If we decide to visit Symi again, these guys are our first choice.

Dear Dennis, Thank you so much for the time you devoted writing this review. Your opinions matter greatly to us, as we aim to upgrade our quality of service to every single passenger, so they can have an enjoyable and safe trip. We strictly comply to the guidelines about COVID – 19, which are provided by the European Union and the Greek Government. We are glad you found our crew friendly and helpful and we most definitely aim to respect social distancing and overall, every safety measure to protect the health of both our crew and passengers. Our departure and arrival times are standard, and our goal is to never exceed them, so punctuality is very important to us. We hope to see you again in one of our upcoming trips to Symi. Stay Safe! Best Regards,

Took a Ferry Crossing with Sea Dreams to Marmaris, Turkiye. The Ferry was booked through a tour company. On boarding noticed the crew were placing our luggage against Emergency Exits which blocked 5 of the 6 Exits. I spoke to a member of the crew, who was wearing a Trip Advisor Tee Shirt !!!! and they said it was okay. I spoke to our tour representative who seemed to agree with the crew, but later came and said I was right. This was not safe. I e-mailed the tour company on landing who said they would contact Sea Dreams direct and also contact a local Quality Management Team to investigate.
On our return trip as I boarded the boat the same practice of blocking Emergency Exits was happening. I said I wanted to speak to the Captain as the boat was clearly breaking Maritme Health & Saftey Regulations. I was approached by the Chief Steward who said if I wasn't happy then he threatened me with taking off my bags and leave me at the port. I spoke then to the tour rep and during our conversation the same steward spoke to the rep., informing him that he wanted 30 of the tour passengers to get off the boat with their bags. I left the scene as it seemed to be getting very hostile. As we set off, the same chief steward came over to me. He apologised and said I was right but that he had 220 passengers with luggage on a boat with a capacity of 238, with no luggage storage facilities and what could he do!! I said it was not my problem, but suggested that he should put crew members at every blocked Emergency Exit for the duration of the crossing. I had deliberately found a seat at the only unblocked exit, which was the boats boarding point. He did not follow my advice. The Catamaran set off with Children, elderly and some poor mobility passengers crammed into a boat with gangways and emergency exits blocked. One of the exits at the rear of the boat had luggage on the inside and on the outside of the door. Disgraceful and Totally unsafe.

Absolute waste of money and time, this trip is basically a 12 hour round trip for approx 1.5 hrs of actual shopping in the bazaar once you've had lunch. Around 4 hrs of queuing in the heat to get on and off ferries. No food/drink on the outbound ferry. An irritating and pointless sightseeing tour (no sights!) involving a 40mins stop at a horrible jewellery shop which wasn't mentioned on our leaflet . Even once isude the bazaar we had to sit and listen to a promotional talk in a clothes shop just to get the time of the ferry back. If you want to visit Marmaris I suggest you buy a return ferry ticket and get a taxi at the other end. DIY and spend the time shopping to get lots of bargains which unfortunately we missed. Very grumpy customer

Dear X2166QXjos, thank you for taking the time to comment and to rate us. We do understand that passing passport control takes time, but is a must as with all international travels and out of our control. The "shopping" tour is just a little extra that if offered without extra charge, but everybody is free either not to participate or to leave at any time, and follow their own program, as we do understand that it is not everybody’s cup of tea. For any information that you might have wanted / needed, or any other issue, it could/ should have been communicated to our guide, that was with you in Marmaris and on the tour. Great tips and any kind of help would have been gladly provided. We wish you all the best, stay safe!

Slow ferry, there are also faster to Symi (from Rhodes). Even Symi-Panormitis did it 1 hour, while it is done with other boats faster. Lastly the route, overloaded from the point of view of the people, you finitely found to sit and the air conditioning if it was not inexistent at best was underfunctioning. The cherry on the cake: on the return to Rhodes (which the people were tired and the heat was a lot) a place in the living room had been isolated and had been "closed" with chairs the guides of the group for themselves. After a hustle the captain was called, who opened the seated space for the passengers to sit (this was the only positive t in honor of the captain who worked properly).

Started the trip with a 30 min delay and in addition we spent 1.5 hours over. On the return journey, an alarm goes off on the bridge. One of the crew came out more quickly and we saw that he was in a hurry. Soon after, an alarm sounds on the loudspeaker system on board. This is silenced quite quickly. No information from the crew about what has happened. Does not become less suspicious when one of the crew walks around and looks at the passengers and looks in a hurry. He also does not provide any information. Hear the alarm go off several times on the bridge. Also uses 1.5 hours home. Getting a little worried when the boat is almost 30 years old and looks tired from what we see. Made me think that we started 30 min late and took 30 min longer both ways due to problems before we started

Marmaris to Rhodes ferry for a day trip. Sea Dreams has an obsolete booking system. Once you have navigated the confusing web site you get emailed a voucher. This has to be converted into a boarding card at the ticket office. Not a problem in Marmaris but it has to be repeated in Rhodes for the return. Only one counter open leaving hundreds queuing in the sun.
Then passport control is understaffed and created a chaotic second queue. Better in Türkiye than Greece.
What should be a simple hour’s journey end up as nearly three hours each way. This leaves less time to see the lovely town.

The passengers that were on time, could wait in the sun with no share for an hour. Also people with small childeren. The ship arrived to late and then when they finally opened the gate, they opened a side-gate, so the early passengers were on the back of the row now. Of cursus then people started pushing. The personel was ignorend towards the situation.

We were really excited to find a daily cruise to Symi island with such a nice program. Most such cruises were only allowing us up to 3,5 hours to Symi town, but we wanted to stay there as much as possible, walk its small roads, climb up at the top, enjoy our delicious lunch there. The cruise with Sea Dreams was the only one that allowed this in the best way possible. First of all we were greeted and kept informed in the slightest detail by Irini, then the trip with the boat was comfy and all hygiene rules were followed (great response to the Covid pandemic in all Greece 🇬🇷) and then we were allowed 5 hours in Symi town. After the 5 hours we went to Panormitis monastery which was also beautiful. Although we are not religious, we loved the view , although there is not really much of a beach there as I expected. I recommend the trip to anybody in Rhodes. That said, I think next time I will prefer to stay in Symi for a couple of nights in order to also enjoy the amazing beaches!

For cyclists looking to travel between marmaris and Rhodos:

This was our last and worst experience in Turkey. We knew beforehand that we should contact seadreams to ask if there was enough space for our bicycles. We tried to call, no answer. We tried the whatsapp chat, no reply. Finally we booked a ticked ane crossed our fingers. When we arrived at counter to retrieve our tickets we asked again if it would be an issue to bikes. They replied: no worries, you should not pay anything. This made us happy until we saw the ferry.

At the ticket check (5metres from ferry) the two people standing there were really unfriendly to us. We were told to wait behind them for some time. They said that ten more bikes were to come from immigration. This did not happen and sounded like a really bad exuse to us. 40 minutes and some heated discussions later we were finally let onboard 1 minute before departure.

As if this was not enough, several emergency exits were blocked by luggage during the voyage. This is not good.

Finally, at a later point we met other cyclists who had taken the same ferry. They had an identical experience to us exept that they had to bribe their way onboard. They have also left a review on this page.

Rhodes to Marmaris 1 day, dragged to view point we didn’t want to go to, taken to a jewellery store and kept there until the bus left, taken to the bazaar but told where to go and where to eat….. the guide kept talking about our free time when he was finished with us, but forced us to go to a shop and would only give us the time the bus would leave if we listened to a sales pitch by the store. This felt like a time share. This all wasted over an hour of our time, the ferry was almost an hour late so we were two hours down already. We were promised 6 hours in marmaris and we actually had 3. The ferry trip back was awful due to bad wind but that’s not their fault. We got back on the coach and the tour guy sat at the front of the bus talking loudly on his phone for the whole 1 hour bus journey, this annoyance finished of the trip wonderfully
