Sommerrodelbahn is one of the places you could visit if you are travelling with kids in Franconian Switzerland. It is located close to natural swimming pool Felsenbad and Devil's Cave (Teufelshöhle), so you can use it as a joker, if the kids get tired. It features two different tracks, one on rails, the other resembling a bobslide. For both you... More

There are two different tracks you can ride - yellow (coaster) and red (slide?). I didn't get a chance to ride the yellow, but from the looks of it, it seems to go much faster. The red doesn't require a seat belt (which I found a tad unsettling, but I'm a baby when it comes to thrill seeking). You can... More

My 2 sons and I had a great time riding the carts. It seems like it's very fast but you have control over the cart. Beautiful area too. Great for families who want to experience Germany.

Decided to spend the day (Sunday) in Pottenstein, not having been here since I was a Wee Lad. After stopping first at the Teufelshöhle (Devil's Cave) continuing on the road towards the town, on the left I see the Sommerrodelbahn. So I decide to turn into the Parking Lot and have a go. The cost (Adult) is 3€ for a... More

First weekend in Germany I was brought along to the Sommerrodelbahnen and had no idea what it meant. There are two tracks yellow and (blue??) and you just push and pull to go faster or slower. Bit pricey for multiple trips (~28€ for 6 goes) but you can stretch it for a few hours. Great for kids and family fun... More

Arrived at 1545h on a hot Sunday afternoon. They allegedly close at 1700h, so I was concerned after my son and I each bought the 6-ride pass, 25eur total, and we got in the line. But the line moved quickly, and we made it thru all 6 rides just after 1700h, and they stayed open later to clear everyone out... More

My husband, daughter (12 yr old), and I very much enjoyed the ride! We went on a Saturday and it was very crowded. Maybe if you go earlier in the day it would be less crowded. But overall it was a very fun ride.

I never realized that this small town had such a place. I recommend this place 100%. There's even swimming pool across the road.

The Rodelbahn was great fun. The tickets are affordable, the ride is safe, and yet offers enough excitement for the thrill seeker. They also had a trampoline with harness, a snack bar and a simple snack bar.
