If you're in love with cats and dogs, this is a place which shouldn't be missed and can only be seen in Asnières-sur-Seine... After an easy and not too long ride with public transportation from Paris you'll be in a quite incredible and unique place ! Don't judge what you'll see... Just consider this as a place were people buried... More

Very interesting to see such an unusual place. Allow about an hour or so unless you are really into this sort of attraction.

This is such a strange, touching, odd, peaceful and unique place. A great site for anyone who has "done" all the main Paris sites and is looking to see something different and to visit another area of the city. Plus, you can visit the graves of Rin Tin Tin, Napoleon's dog (from his army) and a couple of race horses.... More

Maybe it is just because I've been gone from home (and my dogs) for a month now, but I found this place to be incredibly moving. The dedication to departed pets is so touching to see. It is a little outside of the city, but well worth the visit.

We visited this cemetery, both out of interest and as a way of getting out of the city and into a part of Paris not seen before. You have to walk through slightly less salubrious parts of town to get there, and there were interesting views of La Defense off to the left as we crossed the bridge (sadly we... More

Most people probably wouldn't consider taking time to see a pet cemetery on a visit to Paris. If you're considering it, though, you should do it. It's a nice, interesting place, and my wife and I were glad to see a neighborhood we would have no other reason to visit. We agree with all the reviews except the rather silly... More

The Paris Dog Cemetery was opened in 1899 and is thought to be the first pet cemetery ever built. It is located in a suburb just outside Paris, Asnières-sur-Seine, and is reachable by métro. It is situated right along the Seine River, so it is in a very serene location. Although the official name of the cemetery is “Cimetière des... More

This cemetery was founded in 1899 and there are tombs for dogs (and other animals) from then till now. Some of the tombstones are older style and very elaborately carved, while others are modern and stark. Some stones are so old the writing has worn off, but, curiously, the small pictures of the animals (under glass) remain intact and visible.... More

We spent almost two hours strolling through this lovely cemetery for pets. The sculptures and tombstones are varied. Many graves are frequently visited by devoted owners and trinkets of love are left behind. The original Rin Tin Tin might be the most recognized celebrity buried here but it is obvious each pet was a celebrity to their owners. It is... More
