3$ for a 30-45 minute walk through the forest, over a short hanging bridge, to see two (2!) trees that have somewhat of a square trunk. OK, but not really worth the money.

3 $ per person for a 2 km walk and a view on a not square tree was one of several disasters we had on our Panama tour

The square trees are not so square as you might expect. The walk is nice and especially good for people who don’t want or can’t walk far. You really get a jungle feeling and if you choice a quiet time, then you feel you are alone in the jungle.

Was very beautiful to see and only saw 2 of the square trees. Was very neat to see and couldn't get over how cool it was. We were taken a different route with one of the locals so didn't do the path but man was I glad I got to see this rare site!

We paid the two bucks to use the trail and they unlocked the gate It is said to be 800 meters. That is about right. First thing we saw a turtle in the creek and then a grey snake, possibly a water snake of some sort. The trail has benches every 100 meters or so and makes for easy going.... More

The square trees were very underwhelming, but the walk through the jungle was beautiful. We saw some amazing butterflies and gorgeous streams. Cost was $2/adult, and the kids were free. For that price, I'd say it's worth it.

There is a short trail behind Hotel Campestre, with a US.2.00 fee (at least for locals) where you can have a nice walk inside a natural endemic forest, surrounding a stream that you can hear along the way while bird watching, learning the name of some local trees and of course the square trees. The trail in itself is worth... More

The square trees are located in the NE corner of El Valle on the property of Hotel Campestre. You pay a small fee in the office and the distance to the square trees is about 440 yards or 400 meters. The trail is flat and very lushes. The trunk of the trees are square because of the volcanic make up... More

Ok, the trees are not the most exciting thing you will ever see but the little trail to get there is quite pleasant. It's not worth going out of your way, but it is certainly worth stopping in for a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
