Theese markets line one side of the road and is great to walk along and see all the items for sale. Very polite people selling. No one is pushy, and never once did the sellers get nasty.UNLIKE bali. Its warm out at night and very...More

The night markets pretty much consist of the same stall over and over and over again..t-shirts, sunglasses, watches, handbags and some trashy souvenir type things...stall holders are pretty laid back, not much bartering going on. Worth the walk in the evening to people watch, but...More

Loved this market! Local food market, not many tourists. See the real authentic street food culture. The chicken floss and peanut butter pancakes are amazing also try the roasted milk bubble tea

We have been travelling to Penang since 2003. We find now the night market consists mainly of rip off hand bags an watches. Not very much of a cultural backgound - at least some years ago you could purchase batik paintings or cushion covers.

This night market is long and repetitive. Traders seem to sell much the same thing over and over again. Casual, beach wear and tees shirts not to mention baseball caps and of course the obligatory watches. After the first hundred metres there's a sameness, still...More

Was here many years ago and although the market was a lot smaller then, I feel it had a better range of items than now. Was looking to buy some local artwork and found only 2 people selling art. Some of the stall holders can...More

The night market was just along the street outside our hotel. We enjoyed shopping for souvenirs as most of the items were a good bargain. Since the shops were lined on the street, we could go around before or after dining in one of the...More

If you are after a cheap knock off or imported souvenir then this is the place for you. The street is lined with hawkers who practically throw themselves at you for a sale. If you are after a more cultural experience and traditional gifts then...More

Nice night market along the roads, most stalls are selling same stuff. A must to bargain. Opens at 6:30pm and may not open when it rains.

Great fun but to be honest is very much like other markets in SEA. Fun to haggle and the quality is , IMO , a lot better than markets in Indonesia and even Petaling St KL. Basically the same products though.

Well it is not a long walk BUT it is quite dangerous walking along the side of the road. There are many spots where there is simply no room for both a car and a pedestrian. Be very careful, especially if you have small... More
