I felt like I wasn’t in Brazil, because of the extremely high prices all around the island, but then I was constantly reminded I was in Brazil because of the lack of infrastructure and investment. It is a nice place to go once you earn in USD or EUR, not in BRL. If you live in Brazil I would say you go to the Caribbean, you would save some money.…

Lovely island with breathtaking scenery and many beautiful beaches. Lots of good restaurants and friendly people. Unfortunately we had some rainy weather and the ocean was not that clear. We did see some marine life but no turtles. Bring bug spray!

The island is absolutely gorgeous, it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is easy to go around the island and you will also find nice shops and good restaurants. The island is very safe and you can go snorkeling for hours without worrying about your bag on the beach. It is the perfect destination for someone who loves hot weather and beaches. I recommend 10 to 14 days to enjoy it properly.…

Great place for diving, trails, beaches and nature contemplation. You can go from one side of the island to the other easily by bus. It is best to stay a week because of some trails that must be scheduled and are limited. Some activities, such as diving, must be done at most one or two days before the flight and require prior classes or licensing. There is a tour called IlhaTour, which consists of a 4x4 vehicle tour of the main attractions, which is very useful to know the island. The boat rides are also very good.…

The people are friendly and the scenery and beaches spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. However be prepared for high prices, poor transportation, bad roads, intermittent WiFi , insects and strong sun. Mosquito repellent and sun block is a must, as you would expect. This is not a complaint, just a statement of fact. There are good restaurants and bars. Most of the restaurants are basic but have good food. Given the money generated from tourists I would expect much better services and infrastructure. There is no comparison with those provided in the Galapagos, for example. We had a great time and would not have missed the experience but three days is enough and we will never go back.…
