In my personal opinion, Leao (or Lion) Beach is the best one in FdN. Simple to access (no prior booking necessary, only national park pass needed). Beautiful sand and crystalline warm waters. Was pretty empty, even in high season. You have to bring all your...More

A place I love to visit and spend a few hours admiring the sea. Every time I went, in the afternoon, it was empty or nearly so and you have a beautiful wild beach to yourself.

This was our favorite beach. Waves on the south side of the island are more gentle and there is awesome body surfing in crystal waters and fine sand

Beautiful and quiet beach. No restaurants, no shade, just the perfect beach. You´d better take an umbrella and some snack to enjoy your day there.

I didn’t enjoy it that much, maybe because the day was cloudy. I enjoyed the trail to get there and the complete solitude you can experience.

A little removed from the access road, during rainy season hard to get there, a very rough dirt road to take. Most people use the viewing point on top of the hill to admire the panorama, but don't bother to hike the trail to the...More

We arrived at the end of a bumpy dirt road and walked down to the hill to find that we were alone on a beautiful yellow-red sand beach that seemed to go on for days. While it was too rough to swim there and there...More

The beach is entirely deserted and beautiful but signs warn of strong currents. Snorkelling is good.
