Good for snorkel

I wasn't luck over there, but my friends saw many fishes, turtles and even sharks using snorkel over there. I recommend taking a guide, I didn't and regret after.

Located in the south of the island this is the place to snorkel and swim with turtles and see sharks, lobsters and fish.

This beach is part of the National Park. That means you need to buy the ticket to have access to (see may comment about Baia do Sancho). To swim on the right side of beach ( where you can observe turtles, fishes and sharks) you must use life jackets ( you can rent them at the visitor's center just by... More

Amazing place to see the sunset in the island, there is a Lounge Bar near the beach. Excelent japanes food and cold bears. The place is beatiful, calm and relaxing.

Beautiful soft sand and gentle slope in this little bay. We played in the waves but others snorkled. One day we got out in respect of two agitated (and pregnant) lemon sharks. A little store and a little food at one side at street level, then one flight of easy stairs to the beach.

I was expecting a lot from this beach and was hoping to see much of the marine life there, but I ended up not seeing anything. The beach is not very good for swimming as well.

Good for just relax, or a more exciting diving in the company of sharks, turtles, etc. Baby sharks (and other small fishes) can be seen just a couple of meters from the beach.

Known for large sea turtles, the visibility is not always perfect, but it is easy to get to by bus, 3 rs. one part requires mask snorkel fins and life jacket, available to rent on site, very inexpensive but part of the park so you will need you park pass, 178 rs each for 10 days at time of writing.

They say it is a very rich place in fauna and flora, therefore you must use a lifejacket to ensure you snorkel only on the surface. Maybe I was unlucky, but the place was so crowded that it was impossible to see anything underwater. Inform yourself with other snorkelers how is the water before actually spending money renting a jacket.... More

It's not my fave, but there are facilities over there - toilets, showers, a small shop and a kiosk selling meals, drinks and ice cream. There are guides who take you snorkeling, if you fancy watching sea turtles (it's not sure as eggs they'll show up, though).
