Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is an old TV episode of Batman and Robin- season one episode "The Londinium Larcenies," Lady Prudence remarks to Robin that she received an MS in finishing school. He wonders what an MS is, and she says that it is a Mistresses of Shoplifting, to which Robin remarks "holy contributing to the delinquency of minors!"
Well Monash has this covered in a weird and wonderful way...they are engaging the young people in the most remarkable park I have seen in a country town.
Monash playground started life on this site in 1965... as more unusual items were added, it gained popularity. A local gentleman had filled the park with challenges by 1985. This became a tourist attraction that people would drive miles for but because of public liability and insurance it closed in 1992. It did eventually reopen but many of Grant's gadgets had been put to rest. Grant was passionate and put Monash on the map.
Nowadays there is a remarkable park that begs belief... it has EVERYTHING here! Toilets, picnic tables, BBQs, water features, a maze, water refill bottle, grassy areas, bench seats, netball courts... seriously don't read this review... put it down and just visit... it's pretty amazing .

When our kids were young, we took them to this park. It was awesome, but so un- PC, but it was exciting. Now it looks beautiful, having gardens & lawns. Lovely for very young still, but not so for older kids.

Biggest Maze I have ever seen , Once u get lost its hard to find yourself out . keeps you and kids busy for at least 20 minutes in maze only. Can spend easily with family and friends for couple of hours . has 3 barbecue areas for plenty fo lawn area for picnic.

Still remember coming down here as a kid. It was so much better back then. Still, there are some good things here such as the maze. However, the really good stuff have long gone because they were too dangerous.

First established in the1960’s, The Monash Adventure playground became iconic during the 70’s and 80’s. It was originally developed by local Monash identity Grant Telfer and was a destination trip made by many South Australian families. The park was closed in the early 90’s and in 1996 reopened in its present reincarnation.
The park boasts a myriad of activities all imaginatively designed and presented with safety issues in mind. Gone are the wood chips replaced with low-impact materials underneath the equipment. Not only were the equipment imaginatively designed but the overall placement of each in relation to the others has also been considered. This is all bound together by the central water feature that starts at the crazy castle meandering through the park to the pond just inside the entrance. For parents with young children please be aware that the water feature is not fenced. Given that Monash is in a low rainfall area, the lushness of the lawns and the associated plantings is a tribute to the dedication of the workers.
I found the size of the maze daunting but glad there was a platform which enables viewing of the inner maze. The PS Monash, originally designed as a kiosk to serve the playground, was closed as it was not financially viable. Now it sits in place as a spot overlooking quite a large pond for relaxation under umbrellas nearby. It is commendable that a liberty swing for wheelchair bound children has been included into the design. There is also a mini-basketball court. Toilet facilities are available.
Several BBQ and seated areas finish off a brilliant adventure park and a family destination spot. Admission to the park is free although a gold coin us requested to assist in the costs of upkeep. Parking is available on-site and is quite large.
Return? Yes every now and again just to see if any further imaginative updates have happened.

This is now a "safe playground" but still an adventure. The large swings are great, the maze is awesome. There is something for everyone regardless of age or level of fitness. The picnic area is spacious. Still miss the old flying fox, the new one is good but the old one was great. I am now 71 and I still enjoyed most items in the park and fely safe on them.

My partner and I, both over 50! had an enjoyable afternoon trying out the rides. There is something for all ages. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. Free bbqs available if you want to pack a meal for the family. Plenty of lawn areas for sitting or playing footy ect when finished on the rides. AND Don't forget the maze! Great Adventure.
