Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First established in the1960’s, The Monash Adventure playground became iconic during the 70’s and 80’s. It was originally developed by local Monash identity Grant Telfer and was a destination trip made by many South Australian families. The park was closed in the early 90’s and in 1996 reopened in its present reincarnation.
The park boasts a myriad of activities all imaginatively designed and presented with safety issues in mind. Gone are the wood chips replaced with low-impact materials underneath the equipment. Not only were the equipment imaginatively designed but the overall placement of each in relation to the others has also been considered. This is all bound together by the central water feature that starts at the crazy castle meandering through the park to the pond just inside the entrance. For parents with young children please be aware that the water feature is not fenced. Given that Monash is in a low rainfall area, the lushness of the lawns and the associated plantings is a tribute to the dedication of the workers.
I found the size of the maze daunting but glad there was a platform which enables viewing of the inner maze. The PS Monash, originally designed as a kiosk to serve the playground, was closed as it was not financially viable. Now it sits in place as a spot overlooking quite a large pond for relaxation under umbrellas nearby. It is commendable that a liberty swing for wheelchair bound children has been included into the design. There is also a mini-basketball court. Toilet facilities are available.
Several BBQ and seated areas finish off a brilliant adventure park and a family destination spot. Admission to the park is free although a gold coin us requested to assist in the costs of upkeep. Parking is available on-site and is quite large.
Return? Yes every now and again just to see if any further imaginative updates have happened.

Second visit we have done with family and the kids love it specially our boys aged 5 & 7. Even our 2yr old had plenty to do. Park is well laid out and lots on offer. Some of the older equipment is pretty sketchy and surprised is still around - the old youtube vids show how sletchy it use to be. Anyways do yourself a favour bring a packed lunch picnic and make a day of it for your family. Worthy of the gold coin donation

Amazing free adventure park. Possibly one of the best parks you will visit for the kids. The Maze is fun for the whole family. All the normal things you’d find at a park but bigger and better. There is also 3x bbqs available.

Biggest Maze I have ever seen , Once u get lost its hard to find yourself out . keeps you and kids busy for at least 20 minutes in maze only. Can spend easily with family and friends for couple of hours . has 3 barbecue areas for plenty fo lawn area for picnic.

Back in the day if you didn't end up with at least a broken limb and gravel rash you hadn't tried hard enough. Yes the Fun police have turned a once out of control , awesome death defying playground into a sanitized snooze fest.

Anyone who visited this playground in the 80s will be a little disappointed with what it now is, but it's still a nice place to spend some time with young children. Gone are the rollercoasters and see-saws and other crazy dangerous stuff that was so unique to Monash - it's now quite a sanitised little park.
Young kids would like it - there is a narrow stream running through the park that they can play in or float things.
The maze is great, and a couple of swings remind of the good old days.....but the flying fox that was there has recently been removed. Two towers joined by a chain bridge is the highlight.
More of a picnic spot than a place to spend a day. BBQs, shade trees, toilets and a kiosk on-site.
My kids (10 & 12) lasted an hour.

We visited this park when our children were young (in the 80's) and we checked it out again. Gone are the metal slides etc. but the replacements are just as interesting (and safer!) and the maze etc are all well done.

Compared to the original playground that closed permanently in 1992 this one has had the full safety audit to ensure risk of injury is as low as possible. Nothing remains from the original except a couple of signs explaining why the original closed. Head over to YouTube and see some videos of the original and you will see the cost of litigation. This new park is purely for young children not teens or adults. A good example of a great children's playground with colourful equipment and lovely grass BBQ's and other facilities.

This large park is situated in a small Riverland town between Berri and Renmark and years ago was the best adventure park in South Australia. Unfortunately most of the adventure and fun for anyone older then 10 years has been removed. What remains is a very safety conscious play park for the very young with expanses of well manicured lawns and shades trees, a small water feature, free BBQ's and picnic areas within a fenced area. We have visited the park a number of times and never found the kiosk open. However, there is a very well stocked small shop opposite with drinks and snacks. Young children will enjoy the maze and climbing the castle but the teens will need their iPad.Take your own BBQ food and have a leisurely picnic underneath the shades trees and watch the little ones play.
