Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To have the information in English would make the experience much better for many visitors. You have to download an app to hear an English explanation, however this was difficult to match up with the pictures and artefacts. Only €3 but not so good for us.

We are seasoned travellers in Spain and know our Spanish food very well. This place therefore really appealed to us and the staff were very friendly and useful. If you're not a little obsessed with Spanish ham and culture though, it's probably not the most exciting place, but worth the ticket combined with the Gruta de las Maravillas!

They do have some guidance notes in English. You pay to get in but you get a yummy little tapas plate of Iberico ham at the end. It is a modern, well set out museum.

the museum is large with plenty of information and pictures but all in Spanish. there is a video in English but is general and not a lot of info re how the jamon is produced.
there is a stair climber for those who cannot handle the stairs. after touring the displays there is a shop next to the reception where you get a tasting of the jamon and lots of items that you can buy.
guided tours are available

We visited the caves (which are excellent, unmissable) and the ticket was only €3 more to include the castle, dull, and the Museum of ham). On the plus side, staff were very helpful and friendly and as everything is in Spanish gave us 2 pages of English explanations and also ran the intro video in English for just 2 of us. Beyond that, afraid to say that it was very dull.

The entrance fee is included in the price of entry to the Gruta de Maravillas, and although it is reasonably interesting, if you are pushed for time it can be avoided.

Well this was an interesting tour of the whole process of the Iberian Ham. But I think in hall 5, there are some gruesome pics of the killing process of the pig ( don't let your child see it ). Apart from that, the process and flora, fauna is good to know about. Change the video according to the language you want.

A trip round the museum takes just under an hour & you get a taste of ham at the end.
English translation is available for parts.
You walk around on your own - no accompanying guide.

Having visited the caves in Aracena we paid an extra couple of Euros to go to the Ham Museum. Although all the visual interpretation is in Spanish you can get an English information sheet which tells you everything you need to know about what you see. Certainly worth a visit and you get a free tasting of Jamon Iberico too.
