For a couple of euros, my husband and I really enjoyed our time here. I didn’t expect to stay long but got really into reading all the material they had about Azorean immigrants that it took us a couple of hours to get through the information. Wasn't aware of the connection of the Azores to North America. So glad we included this stop on our vacation to the Azore Islands.

Lots of great information on how and why people migrated from the Azores. For only one Euro each, you really can't beat it. They have neat displays of donated items and some stories about Azorean immigrants. The docent was very nice and helpful.

Some of the personal stories are affecting and many of the photographs are very moving as they record people leaving the islands to try and find a 'better' life. The lady who runs the museum was very helpful and very willing to explain things (in excellent English). Definitely worth a visit.…
