Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really fascinating ruins and active archaeological dig. If you like history of the Romans this is a must see. Can’t believe it was only 3 euros to get in. Note they are closed from 12-2. We arrived right at 2 and only waited a few minutes for them to reopen.

We came across Mirobriga as we were making our way down the Alentijo region of Portugal. It was interesting to see the sites such as the thermal water rooms and the forum. The grass was overgrown which I think added to the nature of the ruins. On the pathway we came across archeologists digging up some artifacts, it was interesting to see. I have never seen archeologists at work before. It was definitely worth it for us to see how far the roman empire had stretched. Make sure you take water with you as it gets very hot in July. (we visited July 2018)

Visited on a Sunday afternoon in March. €3 adult entrance fee. There is a small exhibition area in the reception building with a good selection of artefacts from the site, although no descriptions in English.
The site itself has two main areas, the Forum and bath complex. The latter is the most interesting as the preservation is excellent. There is also a well-preserved Roman bridge. The original paving slab-covered roadway linking the site is impressive.
Much of the site remains un-excavated and it’s amazing to think what lies beneath the adjoining fields.

If you are into visiting ruins [we are] this is worth the drive off the main road. Lot's to see in the extensive excavation-well worth the drive.

Mirobriga offers some interesting roman ruins, but they could use some maintenance. Grass is too tall, and it all looks a bit wild but the forum and thermal baths are still imposing sights. Entrance costs 3 euros (1,5 for seniors and students).

The site is not too big, but very well kept, with a temple that is partly reconstructed.
Miróbriga is known since the sixteenth century and inhabited since at least the Iron Age. This agglomeration is distinguished by its forum; by housing and shopping area; the complex of bathhouses, one of the best preserved in peninsular territory, the sidewalks and hydraulic systems; the bridge and also by the hippodrome, single plant specimen known in Portugal
