We took a quick walk through it only takes 10 minutes - it was mostly open for school groups in the shoulder season. Displays concentrate on local waters.

Small family-oriented acquarium with fish from the local fjords. On top of that, kids can fish on their own from a net outside on the pier - what a delight for kids. Service is very attentive. You can also have reasonably-priced (at least for Norway)...More

This is one place to skip. There were very few varieties of fish and most of the ones there looked ill. The tanks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Not worth the price of admission.

This was a bit of a 'time-filler' while waiting for our Fiord half-day tour, but recommended by our hotel receptionist for the associated restaurant. But it proved to be a very interesting and informative ecological exposition on the fiords with some well researched longitudinal studies...More

This aquarium is dark and smelly, but TOTALLY worth a visit because it comes with a free hour long boat rental, and the cafe has excellent baked goods!

We enjoyed this aquarium/ museum... perfect for kids (ours are 9, 10, 12). Contrary to other posts they give you a flashlight and English guide. Admission comes with hour of rowboat time. Well done!

Contrasted with the Bergen Aquarium, which my 3 year old daughter loved, this tiny and very dark aquarium was not worth visiting. The aquarium is extremely dark, which for a young child was scary, and it made for an unpleasant experience. Also, all of the...More

Very nice and picturesque location. However, when you enter the aquarium, you're overwhelmed with a very distinctive smell. Also, if seems like the fish tanks haven't been cleaned in ages. You'll have to find out yourself if it's worth a visit. If you're very interested...More

We went there to eat and not to see the aquarium. It's a tiny place but overlooking the harbour. I had cod fish in pesto sauce and it was delightful. Fish soup of the day is served with so much bread and the portion is...More
