Sogn Fruitpark & Cider House: a combination of cider production, cultural activities, serving of food and cider tasting for groups. The Cider House is situated in a fruit orchard with 100 different varieties of fruit including varieties imported from France and England. From the terrace there is 180 degree view over the Sognefjord. We take group bookings for lunch, dinner and other meals in the restaurant. The restaurant is also open for individuals in July. As far as possible we use organic and local products. Sale of Balholm fruit juice and fruit and berry products.

We visited Sogn Fruitpark & Cider House in 2014. At the time there weren't very many reviews or places we read about to go see. We made a reservation for Dinner. We walked (about 40 minutes from what I can remember) from our hotel in the city center. The walk was worth it alone. Through little streets and passing beautiful... More

This is a a lovely family ran cider production business. We had a tour of the production process and a cider tasting event. We combined the tasting with a delicious lunch in a lovely airy conservatory. It was perfect on a rainy day in beautiful Balestrand. Most enjoyable.

Sometimes you don't need to go looking for perfection it finds you, today we found the most wonderful family run Cider Farm in Balestrand. We were the only couple and had the experts to ourselves, great tour and so lovely to hear how the family developed their business. Lunch was high quality , beautiful lentil soup and bread with herb... More

We came by in may and had a nice chat with the owner. You can purchase their Apple cider but the restaurant doesn't open until the tourist season kicks off in mid June.

After reading reviews of this restaurant the reality proved to be quite different. Ordering a selection from the Medz menu and choosing to do the three cider tasting the results were underwhelmingly. The cibbatta bread was stale, the Norwegian flatbread had stale pieces. The scallops were very ordinary, the meatballs and the salad also. The table flowers matched our drooping... More

Beautiful grounds and structure, delicious home cooked lunches, tours of the cider making operations with an opportunity to buy juices right off the presses. Very nice staff, mostly extended family.

The restaurant at the Cider House is the best place to eat in Balestrand. If you are lucky, the owner will show you the cider caves in the basement.
