The owner was extremely helpful to us. We used the hiking map provided and spent a full day walking up the mountain. Beautiful vistas! She also suggested a boat trip down the fjord, which was fun. We bundled up with dry suits and gear for...More

We stopped in to get tips on where to hike in the area. We not only purchased a great hiking map that we will pass on to friends coming to Norway, we got personal recommendations for several options in and around Balestrand.

They were very helpful in booking a bike trip or anything else you want to do it into the small fjord town, they also set us up with a fishing trip in the fjords.

The day we went in the lady that works here was buzzing around, kindly helping everyone. She offered up information on the ferries, buses -- and we rented bikes from her, which was a wonderful way to spend the day!

The Balestrand TI was such a helpful resource for us, both for hiking trails, fjord region transportation planning, and renting bikes.

Not sure if this helps but there is an amazing ferry ride from Kaupanger, which is a short drive from Balestrand, to Flam. It doesn't run all year but is a stunning trip. This ferry does take vehicles.
