My wife and I visited the Cattedrale and enjoyed the frescoes. There was a baptism just starting but the guide did not push aside her tourists - really appalling!

Large duomo in the form of a basilica with an apse and two aisles. The 13th century bell tower is an original but there is a 19th century extension at the top. The interior is quite large and some what stark - not so much beautiful as interesting. There are a number of partial frescoes painted from the 12th to... More

This area of Tuscany is very unspoilt, and has very few tourists compared to the rest of Tuscany. Mass Maritime has this beautiful cathedral, and it is an architectural beauty. Worth a visit.

Lovely exterior is matched with a very majestic interior that is not as over done as many such buildings can be.

this is a beautiful church in the main piazza of town. take the time to explore and take in the various works of art that make up the various chapels inside. You will not be disappointed.

It was under repair (internal) with scaffolding inside when we visited in summer of 2014. Other than that fact, this is a large and impressive cathedral right on the main piazza.

Church is dedicated to St. Cerbona. Massa Marittimma is a small medieval town in South of Tuscany. The church is located in the main square. It was partly under renovations so some scaffoldings will be on your pictures too...

Very nice duomo in the centre of the Piazza, the town is on top of the Hill. It is surrounded by Pizzerie, gelaterias. Now the duomo is renovated.

We loved Massa Marittima and its great duomo (cathedral) which dates back nearly 1,000 years. It is currently under construction in the interior but is still accessible and the traveler can still see its many fine works of art. It is a smallish church unlike the ones that you might find in Rome or Florence but that is part of... More
