Absolutely one of the most beautiful natural places that I've visit. So natural and so unique in every moments of the day. We had walk beside the two lakes in the afternoon and in the morning. Totally different views. One of the most beautiful lakes of the Apls.

I had not been to this beautiful lake in years and found the scenery particularly beautiful on a sunny October afternoon when foliage in all shades of red, orange and yellow is reflected in the clear turquoise waters. Provided you wear shoes with non-slippery soles (there are quite a few exposed roots of trees that can be covered in rather... More

This place is heavenly on a sunny and calm day, allowing for spectacular photography. Not much to do, though, except for hiking. Therefore it may not be recommended for people looking for action activities.

Well worth a visit. Plus lovely place for a glass of vine next to Lake. Wouldn't bother with the other larger lake. Restaurant looked and sounded nice, just be careful as they don't serve food all day. Water colours are fantastic, as are the surrounding mountain ranges.

I've been to this lake twice. The first time it was during the Spring season in EU (April) and the second time was during the end of summer (September). On my first visit in 2012, I only saw one lake on the lower end of the mountain as the upper end was fully, if not almost completely dried. On my... More

10min drive from either Tarviso or Kranjska Gora - a great place for walking with young children. The trail around lake 1 is relatively easy even with young kids (>4yrs) it takes 40min around lake 1 (emerald lake) and overlooking the Julian's alps - there's a restaurant and a cafe around the lake after the nice walk. Parking spaces along... More

Lake 1 is amazing, most beautiful place I have been to. Lake 2 is not as nice but it is a great place for camping. It is definitely a "must see".

These twin lakes are the most beautiful lakes in the area. Plus this area is also near to old town of Tarvisio.
