This architectural site is really worth a visit if not only to appreciate the amount of work (trowel and paint brush) to create or unearth these ruins ..... BUT please who ever is responsible in the Malia region for this site you need badly: More...More

We loved the history of this place but there are no maps or any literature at the site. If you go, and I do recommend it, read up on it first.

Whilst this archaeological site may not be so well known as Knossos, it can act as a very useful introduction to the layout of Minoan Palaces and therefore we would recommend it as a precursor to a visit to Knossos and Phaistos. However, be prepared...More

Entry is €6 for and adult, parking plentiful and free. This is a well preserved site with minimal “restoration” and is free from the crowds of Knossos. Many of the information boards are blank which was a shame as I would like to have learned...More

Much less frequented than Knossos but just as interesting. Well worth a visit because there are less people getting in the way so easier to get an idea of what you are looking at. There is obviously so much that hasn’t yet been excavated but...More

Nice slice of history, very interresting even for 9-year old. Nice bench area in shade for break. Close to Potamous beach to cool down after hot walk around.

Randy and I were so impressed with the Minoan people and their life so many years ago. We are talking thousands of years. There were very advanced for the time. The most important to me was their love of peace. Getting along, being supportive, caring...More

Even though it was very hot on that day and there isn’t much shade on the main ruins, it is a place really worth seeing. For anyone who is interested in ruins and old cultures, I found it very interesting. Unfortunately there isn’t much of...More

You will have to use your imagination, unless you take the tour the information is limited, but the different building styles can be seen around the site. Worth a stop, also the nearby beach is very nice.
