Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Todor Kableshkov's house, where he was born and which has been turned into a museum, is a must-visit if you go to Koprivshtitsa. There is a lot of information, both in Bulgarian and English, many facts and some of Kableshkov's belongings.
He is a great revolutionary who sacrificed his life for the liberation of Bulgaria although he was of a wealthy family and had everything for a relaxed and trouble-free life. He announced the start of the April Uprising in Bulgaria and wrote the famous "Blood Letter".
This house-museum is one of the 6 museums in Koprivshtitsa for which you can buy a cheap combo ticket.

This house is my personal favorite house there. The exhibition there is concise and has enough materials showing the life back then as well as documents and other stuff for the rebellion in 1876. If you can visit just one thing there I think this is the one I would recommend (but if you have more time, visit everything)

The attractive mountain village of Koprivshtitsa is worthwhile visiting for its traditional 19th century architecture, but anybody interested in the hîstory of the Balcans will also be fascinated by the fact that so many important figures of Bulgarian history and culture have their roots in this rather remote village. As in Greece during Ottoman rule more freedom was guaranteed away from the chifliks in the fertile plains.

Seeveral houses in Koprivshtitsa, some private, but about 8, which belong to the municipality and can be visited on a combined ticket, have been turned into 'House Museums'. And most of them are attached to an important personality.

This is the case also with the rather grand 'Todor Kableshkov Birth House', bigger than most and with mainly antique pink colours outdoors. It belonged to a wealthy family, but the name of the house refers to a man, now considered one of the great Bulgarian freedom fighters. Starting the April 1876 uprising with his 'Bloody Letter' (written in blood), Todor Kableshkov was betrayed, captured, tortured until he committed suicide in a prison at age 26.

Todor was born here in 1851 and his birth room is displayed within. It is a charming home with an ornate colourful facade and the upper storey extending over the courtyard wall.

He had a short life, dying by his own hand, captured after leading the start of the April uprising in 1876. One of the most powerful artefacts shown is the famous Blood Letter, written in the blood of the first Ottoman victim of the rebellion.

Comfortable living is conveyed, with fine spacious and attractive rooms being the norm. Those on the upper floor were used in the summer season.

This big and impressive house was built in 1854 for the grandfather of Todor Kableshkov. The house itself is an architectural gem, but the story shown inside is the most impressive one to follow. The young and passionate Todor was the leader of the "April Uprising of 1876" and had a major role in it, he died on 16th June 1876, at the age of 25. There are many interesting stories regarding Kableshkov's family and the years before the uprising.

This house is where famous Bulgarian revolutionary Todor Kableshkov was born and lived. In 1876 during the uprising against Ottoman slavery, he wrote the Blood letter/written in his own blood/ and started the April uprising. Must visit it.

and we were REALLY looking forward to them. But frankly, we happened to be bored. Although we purchased the full ticket.....we only went to two.

This was ONE of the two we went to.
