The tea factory was interesting and informative with a very knowledgeable tour guide who spoke perfect English. It was very reasonably priced and given Sri Lanka is covered in tea plantations I think it is a Must Do activity whilst in Sri Lanka.

The guy who did the tour kind of seemed like he hated his job, he was very serious. He got a bit better as the tour went on though. We thought the tour was free but it is 525 R. Overall it was interesting to...More

An interesting visit and I learnt a lot about tea, though I did find my guid a bit difficult to understand through his very strong Sri Lankan accent. On the tour you have a short lesson on some interesting tea facts followed by a tour...More

The Tuk Tuk drive to the factory is already nice. The tour takes about an hour. Unfortunately, they won't take you on the tea field itself. But you will see the machines and the testing at the end is nice. Worth the money.

Great tour, very happy I went. Rajha was very knowledgeable and really educated us on tea. He was very easy to understand and explained everything at the right level of detail.

The tour in this tea factory was very good ; the guide gave us a lot of information and we saw every phase of the process of producing tea. The tea tasting at the end was also nice, their tea is very good.

We hired a tuktuk driver to take us to Uva Halpewatte tea factory about 6km from Ella. It was a tortuous steep route on poor quality roads. Upon arrival the factory looked odd; there was no tea aroma and all was quiet. We followed semi...More

The factory felt really dead with not much happening, the guide had very strong accent and was extremely difficult to understand, they rush you through the factory so you get to the shop quicker. You get to try 4 teas all of which tasted very...More
