This is the main mosque in Atyrau and stands next to the square on the main road so you can't miss it. It's nice but nothing spectacular. Nice ceiling and walls with green carpets and in the main hall a big chandelier.

I went over for morning (solat Subuh) prayers. Entrance to the ladies section is at the back, go straight past the main door and you will see another door on your left. Men can enter via the main door. The prayers starts roughly half an hour from the adzan which is a big plus for the winter time. The prayer... More

The mosque appears to be a very beautiful building from a distance, but up close it appears tired ... especially given its age. I honestly expected something larger, with it being the main and most central, and prominent, mosque in Atyrau.

Super. Just worth to visit. In the center of Atyrau city. European side. Was built in 2001 by Atyrau mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov.

The central mosque in the city, located right next to Renaissance Hotel, places nearby: Makhambet square with statues of two local kazakh batyrs (warriors), Kazakhstan hotel, Atyrau shopping mall with Ramstore supermarket inside, Burger House, TCO's Dostyk village, World Class gym center.

Visit the place for nice pictures during lunch time. Impressed by exteriors, even the mosaic of the dome is scattered everywhere around.

Adjacent to the Renaissance hotel, needs some serious TLC. If you catch a glimpse out of the taxi window as you drive by its enough.

Please, change the name of the mosque. As it is actually called Imangali (the first letter is pronounced as 'e', i.e. e-mail), after the name of one of Atyrau ex-major, who made a lot to build the mosque.
