Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a brilliant little community facility! Some nice, well-lit spaces, a good cafe and some sculptures in the garden. The two exhibitions when we visited were both brilliant focussing in entirely different ways on urban architecture. With the amazing Ian Strange exhibition make sure that you watch the video which explains how the artworks were created - not digital art or computer-enhanced but all real. Fascinating and interesting. Highly recommended.

Our large family group had lunch at the gallery and were really happy with it. The food and coffee were very good and the menu was vegetarian friendly. We also enjoyed the exhibition in the gallery about “The Fishing Boy”. The location is beautiful.

Excellent little Regional gallery that is fun to get to if you hire bikes to ride there along the foreshore.
Displaying art, textiles and ceramic pieces it is free and the artwork changes. Well worth a visit.

SO delighted to visit the Art gallery again and see the interesting Arthur Boyd exhibition.
And VERY happy the Cafe is happening - now at same times as the gallery with new proprietors and nice tasty menu. Certainly more variety than before.

Beautiful space in lakeside setting. Nicest of three galleries I visited in region including Newcastle Art Gallery and MRAG (Maitland).

A small but compelling art gallery that cleverly utilises its' art space to maximum effect. There is a regular change of contemporary exhibits and each are supported by activities for families and students that encourage active participation. The curators are very knowledgeable and keen to share the stories behind the pieces. The extensive grounds are beautifully landscaped and encompass creative sculptural pieces. There is a stylish cafe onsite, gift shop with unique curios and plenty of parking.

The Gallery overlooks Lake Macquarie to the North and East, and the views are well worth the visit in itself. The Gallery has a wonderful showcase of local artists of all kinds.
We went there to view a particular item of local photography which was well worth the visit. Attached is a very popular Restaurant, and whilst we did not visit on this occasion,
was full and obviously a very popular venue when visiting the Gallery.

Lake Macquarie Art Gallery is a small art gallery on the edge of Lake Macquarie (just near Marmong Point). Good variety of artwork considering their size. Way more interesting than Newcastle Art Gallery even though it is much bigger. They attract some of the best travelling exhibitions. They offer some interactive art classes for kids. Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff. There is a massive lawn out the front for the kids to play on (goes down to the lake). Some outdoor sculptures on the lawn. It would be a beautiful spot for a picnic. There is a great cafe (which is only open some times) out the side. We would go back there for sure.
