Sydney Harbour Beach but with clean water as its very close to the heads (open ocean). Lovely walk along esplanade, and there is a netted swimming are at one end of the beach. Only problem is finding parking in summer, and the traffic getting there and back along military rd.

Lovely Beach, brings back lots of memories, its always popular, hard to find parking, has lots of nice stores on the main street. Lots of shady places to sit. A great beach to visit.

Visited with family, 3 kids ranging from 9 thru to 18. Everyone had a great time. No over crowding, clean and sandy beach with excellent swimming depth water. If you need the protection of an enclosed area that's there as well. Plenty of local cafes on the sidewalk and over the road.

Precinct offers a wide range of activities from extensive and interesting scenic harbourside hikes, to protected harbour swimming to an oval with a track suitable for learner bike riders. Facilities are great quality and its never overcrowded.. pay to park on the beach but a 300metre or so walk makes it free! Good quality eateries simply the icing on the... More

Here's a beach, perfect for all age groups, especially young children! Easy to access by bus, actually a better idea while the parking is very expensive! Buses run on a regular basis, from the City! Plenty of cafes and restaurants are offering opposite the beach! Plenty of picnic area offering, often under trees! 'The island' at Balmoral is also a... More

Balmoral is a great place for couples and families! The beaches are safe, clean, and sandy! The Pavilion offers fine dining (terrific), casual dining (superb) cafe for coffee and basics! Kayaking and parks, netted swimming area, long promenade to walk- scooter - jog! Watch out for parking prices! Get there early to get a park! Does get busy. Not for... More

The beach, swimming enclosure and small island of Balmoral was an awesome find on our travels. The only problem was that every man and his dog knew about it too. After you fight for a car park which are expensive then you can fight for a spot on the beach. Have a picnic and enjoy!

Perfect for families as shallow and very slight swell. Parking is a nuisance and limits time there but take a picnic.
