Wanaka Wine Tours has been in operation since 2001. It is the original wine touring company in and around Wanaka. We take you to the best places to sample award winning wines and to hear the local stories. As we travel our friendly and knowledgeable guides will tell you tales and stories of the people and land as you enjoy the stunning scenery. Lake Wanaka is the worlds first protected lifestyle reserve. It is a very special place and we look forward to sharing it with you.

This was well worth it. Our guide Wayne Rathbone, was knowledgeable and kind, the lunch was outstanding. Also the wine tastings were paced well, with some really nice tastings.

Tasty and delightful tour!!

Such a wonderful tour around the area. We weren’t sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised with the tour around the area and surrounding towns.

The wines and cellar door staff were so friendly and knowledgeable with many tasty wines on offer.

The meal and matching wines at The Stoaker Room was next level!! Definitely recommend.

We also had the added bonus at the end of the trip of the fresh fruit icecream from Jackson Orchard.

Heidi, our guide was so friendly, full of wonderful knowledge of the region and great stories of her life in the area.

Such a wonderful day. Can’t recommend this tour enough.

Amazing tour guide

Loved our tour with Wānaka wines. The locations and wine were terrific however, the stand out was out tour guide John!! Amazing knowledge, stories and atmosphere he created. Plus a 11/10 photographer, ask him about his panoramas :).
He went above and beyond, dropping us into town via our accommodation to drop off our purchases. Hope he is pleased to know we stayed in touch with our tour friends.

More than a Wine Tour
The tour was a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed all the wineries and the food was so much more than we expected, we really enjoyed the wines matched to the food. John made our day with his knowledge of the area and slipping in some scenic visits. It was so much more than a wine tour. We loved it! Thank you to everyone but especially John.

Great way to visit the wineries!

John was an amazing guide through 4 wineries. Scott took care of all our diverse food restrictions from a vegetarian to a non-fish eater and nothing was a problem. They pick you up at your hotel and choose 4 different types of wineries to visit. The lunch in the middle of the trip was delicious in Cromwell and it was a great little group of people on our tour. Perfect length of time and no pressure to buy at any of the wineries.

best wine tour ever

it was relly best wine tour. The Rippon vineyard is exelant. Our guiade was perfect. But we saw 4 vineyards, and all of of them was nice. Wine we testing - specialy Pionot Noir everyone has to try..

Heidi our tour guide was wonderful! She taught us so much about the local area and introduced us to some lovely wine makers. Would highly recommend this company to do a wine tour with from Wanaka. The wines were amazing.

We had a great time on the wine tour. We found Wanaka Wine Tours very accommodating and friendly.

Enjoyable time
Excellent time. The tour director Wayne was awesome and informative. The wineries visited had good varieties of wine and the midday lunch was fantastic

What a fantastic afternoon we had. Just 5 of us on the tour. Visited 4 different vineyards, each one with something different to offer. The meat & cheese platter lunch was delicious.
Our guide John was brilliant & very witty. Excellent knowledge of the local area. He is certainly an asset to the company.
