Gentler but still physically challenging if you want it to be. Winter 2016 we did alpine skiing and snow shoeing and enjoyed both. As a family we are not speed junkies and this suits all of our abilities. You can even involve the baby, if you have one, who can be towed around behind you. Very much a facility that... More

My family and I visited the snow farm on our recent holiday to Wanaka. I would totally recommend that everyone visit the snow farm. If you want the snow experience without having to go to the overpriced Cardrona ski field the snow farm is a great compromise. For the price I was expecting a lot more for my money. $20.00... More

Our visit was much fun for the younger generation. Sliding down the snow hill in tubes, snow ploughs and boards. Seeing a real huskey team coming down the hill was an amazing sight. Food was a good price, The road up was unsealed and very winding but good views. One fun day at little expense for all.

We spent a few hours in the "Fun Zone" for kids. It was cheap at $10 each for kids to play on the tubes and toboggans. The slope could have been a bit steeper but it was adequate for our 7 and 9 year old to play in the snow for the first time.

We attended the annual Sled Dog Festival held each August by the Southern Regions Sled Dog Club. The races started at 7.00am (staggered start), and were finished by about 9.00am. The was no cost to attend. There were plenty of people keen to explain to us what was going on, and we got to talk to a few mushers and... More

I visited the Snow Farm in late August with my partner (an avid XC skier). We spent four days there, staying in a well heated and spacious room overlooking the ski trails. I cannot praise the lodge staff enough for all their friendliness, helpful service and hospitality! This resort is simple and low-key by most people's 'ski holiday' expectations, and... More

Even though this was my first time cross-country skiing, I felt very confident skiing on my own after the lesson. I was able to ski to the furthest hut and back, which is a total of 4km and very physically intense, but well worth!

Finally drives up to the snow farm after a long car trip to be disappointed by false advertising on the website. The only thing they offered us was a discount on cross country skiing or foot rackets for our shoes as all other activities were for children only. Waste of time and money!!!!

We visit the snow farm yesterday. What a disappointing waste of time and money. We saw on their website the family fun zone for tubing ect and thought great looks like fun. Once we made the 1.5 hr dr we were told that adults can no longer tube or toboggan. So after deciding that we would let the kids have... More

Spent the day up here recently wandering around in Snow Shoes, a new & fun experience. Must say though be aware, not everything available every day and the Tabogganing is really only for kids.
