When I realized we had an extra night available in Puerto Rico after a cruise, I wanted to fit this excursion in before flying home. The natural phenomenon that causes the water to "glow" is something special and rare. Unfortunately, when you choose to take...More

Can anyone help advise me on how I can see the bio bay independently. This was the only reason I have come to Puerto Rico and it's very disappointing that for the last 2 weeks that I have been here - all the ferry tickets...More

You can Kayak or take the tour to the Lighthouse and then go the Bay and see the bio-luminescent. You will walk to a pier where you can play with the water and it will light up your smile. It is like playing with stars!...More

There are many tours available, but we went with Peniel tours. They were fantastic, and the bay itself is a must-see! It looks like stars or diamonds twinkling in the water every time you splash, millions of them! Go on a dark, cloudy, or moonless...More

If you are wanting to see the bio luminescent then I do not recommend this trip at all. This was my second trip....I should have learned from the first trip I did in 2015.....same results. In general the trip is very informative and the guides...More

It was pretty exciting to go kayaking in the evening. The meeting place is safe. The tour company was great. And I got to see the glowing effects in the water.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our trip this past Monday night. We used Pure Adventure Tours; guides Xavier and Javier were great. We apparently lucked out and were treated to fabulous luminescence when we reached the bay. Paddling is fairly easy, we did get...More

If you Google bioluminescent bay, please know that all of those pictures are lies. There is only light with movement, and I would say it's barely noticeable if you weren't looking. A firefly is 100x brighter. It was fun to kayak and go out. But would...More

Trip guides were great, however bc of hurricane Maria, the bay doesn't doesn't glow like before. Also, its hard kayaking with 3 ppl in the boat if you arent used to it.

Our guide explained that the current bioluminescent display is diminished compared to what it has been in the past because of the “sargassum seaweed assault” on many of the Caribbean beaches - and not as much from effects from Hurricane Maria. Our tour group even...More
