La Maddalena Archipelago National Park is a geomarine protected area consisting of a group of islands situated in the north-east of the coast of Gallura, in the stretch of sea between Sardinia and Corsica known as Bocche di Bonifacio. These islands – except for La Maddalena Island housing the homonymous town and characterized by a significant human presence – are entirely deserted or scattered with small human settlements, like in Caprera and Santa Maria Islands.

The ferry trip is quite expensive but makes for a nice day trip. We walked to panorama beach which was an u eventful walk . Once there the rocks were fun for our seven year old to explore. It is a very windy point so not too enjoyable to sunbathe.

We were there early in August 2016, a party of six, three adults, one child and two eighteen year olds. It was well worth the trip from Olbia, you do feel like you have escaped when you get onto the island and the journey is easy from the airport via bus straight to Palau and very regular short hop ferries... We had a nice boat trip in the Maddalena Archipel. We were on a brand new sailing boat with 10 people. We visited some very nice bays, where we could swim and take a sun bath. The captain had a small boat, and some of su wanted to be brought a shore by boat to stay dry. There was lunch... More

I think the reviews here says it all. The beaches are amazing. You can see quite a bit on the two main islands, however, I would recommend doing one of the boat tours to really get to see the other small islands which have amazing beaches.

If you have rented a car it is easy and probably worth doing a trip out to La Maddalena by ferry from Palau. Follow signs for "Porto" nd just keep goimg until tje end of the road to get straight to the ferry terminal to buy tickets (approx €20?) It takes 15 minutes to get across from the mainland. Once... Beautiful scenery but a little spoiled by all the other boats. The beaches, small bays, islands are all beautiful and it's great to throw out your anchor to take a swim or snorkle. The downside is that it's a bit overcrowded by others wanting to do the exact same thing. When the larger tourist excursion boats come around it's better... More

We took the days boat trip from Baia Sardinia for 40€. We had a wonderful day. First stop was in Maddalena for an hour, this is a lovely bustling small town, then on to the islands. The first beach stop on Spargi was reached after a walk across some rocks. The beach was lovely, water crystal clear. Back on board... More
