The view of the falls is from a little distance and from above, looking down into the falls and the canyon. The road to the viewing site is very rough and may test a regular car.

If you are touring Iceland you are probably trying to see as many waterfalls as possible. This was a fairly short stop. Not far from Dettifoss, with a beautiful canyon downstream. The waterfall wasn’t spectacular and you are better bring on the east side

If you visit the waterfall do it from the east side so you can access the river on top and the mist goes to the other side. The photos are better from this side and better access. The road to it from Asbyrgi is an...More

It is a lovely place, but if you have been to a number of other waterfalls and travelled around Iceland, it doesn't really offer anything more. Only go if you have the time, otherwise there is lots more to see in this beautiful country
