Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at a resort in the start of the beach, and on the way of a walk on beach heading north, you ca. still se the impact of the Tsunami inland :-(
The is a lot of plastic and stray dogs (they are harmless)
A part of the beach is big rocks, and thats has its charm.
But soft sand and very beautiful.
We are here I august, there is a lot of big waves.

Just to advise that Coconuts (next to and part of The Suwan Palm Resort) has now reopened on Nang Thong Beach after extensive renovations. A huge bar and lots of tables and chairs for food and drink (also has massage tables). They have a happy hour with cheap cocktails every day from 5-6pm. Sean S ... I agree that White Sand Beach may be more picturesque, but when I visited during the last 3 off-seasons there was nothing open on White Sand Beach.

This was the beach over the road from the hotel. You can walk mikes in both directions. Pity there are aren't a few more people hiring loungers . Really enjoyed it here.

Early mornings by the calm sea, doing Tai Chi. Late sunsets in the water, walking far into the sea or crossing over to the lighthouse. Lovely beach although it has its rocky parts.

One of the cleanest beaches I've come across in Thailand. Could easily find a patch of sand either in the shade or sun, which ever you prefer. Safe enough to leave your stuff whilst plunging into the beautiful ocean. Gentle breeze, white (some places black) sand, clear water, beautiful spot to relax an morning or afternoon away. Amazing sunsets, just kept getting better & better. Not over run with people trying to sell you things. Very chilled, peaceful & relaxing. Will be back!

We stayed at Khao Lak Laguna Resort, so most days during our two weeks stayed we walked on this beach often. It's a beautiful beach. However, as it was a monsoon season, we had a couple of days with heavy rain, but on a very good day with beautiful weather, you can reach the lighthouse.
Overall, this is a nice and beautiful beach. Spare a bit of time to visit.

We stayed at a resort on this beach and loved it.
The absence of sun loungers was fantastic, it gave the freedom to wander around, play in the sand and generally enjoy the experience.
The rocks add to the ambience and provided wonderful photo opportunities, really scenic and relaxing!

We prefersun beds but understand the Thai policy of restricting use. However we found Bang Niang beach much nicer and were a bit disappointed with Bang Thang. Nice to have non smoking policy though with designated areas, something that was not available on the area of Bang Niang that we used.

Sea as warm as tea and a similar colour due to all the sand churned up by the crashing waves, great fun to jump and body surf. Huge beach, can walk for miles and beach comb for shells. A few bars and beach hawkers but no hassle. Fabulous sunsets.

Vorrei sapere, se questa spiaggia è quella nei pressi del Srichada hotel, e se è possibile nelle zone di spiaggia pubblica avere a pagamento lettini e ombrelloni...?
I would like to know, if this beach is the one near the Srichada hotel, and if it is possible in the public beach areas to have sunbeds and umbrellas for a fee ...?
