Pha Poak was worth the climb, Caves are a RIP OFF

Did a little cycle to Pha Poak and caves, I loved every bit of the climb to the top, and the view was great as it wasn't as crowded as Pha Ngueng, Some of the rocks are a wee bit... read more

This viewpoint offers a unique view that is easily accessible for those looking for a quick adventure! It's a step away from the array of caves and lagoons, but it is special in its own way and requires a bit of a hike to reach the summit. The hike weaves in and out of the geologically unique karst rock formations,... More

We took one hour to climb to this moutain, it is easy walk and not to high. From the top of moutain you can overview of Vang Vieng City, nice and beautiful scenery.

My partner and I went to visit the cave this morning & found 4 drunk young men waiting for us after a walk of at least 400m from the road. The two guys we spoke to both smelled strongly of beer & all 4 were drinking from plastic cups containing beer. There were empty and smashed beer bottles littered around... More

We got 300.000 kip stolen while we visit the cave as you must leave your bags outside because all the way into the cave is so narrow. There are 3 or 4 kids at the ticket entrance getting the 10.000 kip and even if we did not want anyone to go with us into the cave it was impossible to... More

We rocked up at the crack of dawn (before the gatekeeper was there to sting us a few kip) and made our way up to the cave. We had our own proper flashlights which helped. Cave is pretty ngarly and dodgy so be reasonable able if you want to go explore as it is not extremely tourist friendly in there... More

We hiked to the viewpoint for 10,000kip. Hike up was fun, adventurous and exhilarating with many questionable areas and cliffs, not for the faint of heart. The view was outstanding. Saw a few snakes. We laughed at having to pay money to climb a path that is not safe but super fun. Would recommend for anyone looking for a bit... More

Due to the heavy rain in Vang Vieng currently the caves are gated off as is the viewpoint. I'm not sure if this is related to the weather or if it is seasonal but either way it rendered our venture pointless.

It was touted as a cave with a swimming hole, when I was there there was no water in it and even if there was you could not do a lot of swimming. I continued up the 'path' to the lookout which was great. Not for the faint of heart, that was a tough climb.

This cave freaked me out. Guide was useful but ripped me off on the way out. Suggest going with a friend and taking your own flashlight. Pretty cool cave though. Probably for the more adventurous.

Did a little cycle to Pha Poak and caves, I loved every bit of the climb to the top, and the view was great as it wasn't as crowded as Pha Ngueng, Some of the rocks are a wee bit sharp and some branches have thorns but nothing out of the ordinary dangerous. Had loads of fun at the peak... More
