It gives you a feeling of olden times where the Viceroys were welcomed to Goa when Old Goa was the capital city. If you pay attention and are on the appropriate road, you will view it en route to Divar island ferry point.

The old arch makes an impressing view, when you come up from the river to go into old Goa. Erected by Vasco da Gamas grandson.

The archway is located in a palm grove just a few minutes walk distance from the Sé Cathedral, right in direction to the Mandovi River. I recommend going down to the ferry dock (BTW nice view of the wide Mandovi River) and then to return...More

This is the old entrance to Old Goa which is worth a visit in its own right if you are interested in churches and old buildings.
