Take a stroll to this view Point either from Glacier View or from the off road parking further down and spend a little bit of time exploring it. Less crowded that Glacier View and stunning views up and down the Valley

A nice gradual hike that is primarily on soil and other parts of the trail is on uneven rock. The dome is about .7 miles from the trailhead. Once you reach the dome it is all rock to the top. No defined trail, just pick...More

Unbelievable views and my children felt like they were on top of the world. Take the time to do this hike; you won't be disappointed!

This was my favorite part of Yosemite. You could see for miles once you got to the top, and it was filled with kids and elderly a like. Fairly short, but really awesome when you crest the top of the rock. Our youngest felt a...More

I would add this to a must hike for almost everyone who plans to hike at Yosemite. Give yourself 1.5 hours. The last part up is the most challenging. My only issue with the NPS and other guides to hikes in Yosemite is I think...More

A nice easy walk from the car park takes you to Sentinel Dome from where you can some wonderful, awe inspiring views of the valley. It is very popular so can be a bit crowded. Rather than return the way we came we followed the...More

This is the point of total beauty when you reach the peak of the half dome trail. If you can make it this far you are in extreme awesome shape and getting there is so worth it.

Took the 1.5 mile hike from Glacier Point. It's a fairly relentless thousand foot climb to the top and a decent level of fitness (and plenty of water) is required but the view from the summit is astonishing! So worth the effort!!

This was a short hike (a little over a mile in & out). There are a few rocky spots along the trail before it joins a road to the top. At the top you ascend the dome on a short and somewhat steep climb for...More

We watched the sunset from the top of Sentinel Dome to avoid the crowds at Glacier Point. This view is absolutely stunning. I felt like I was in a postcard. The hike up is only one mile long and is pretty easy. These are some...More

There's a shuttle from Yosemite Village up to Glacier Point that will drop you off. There's a fee and you can book tickets ahead, I believe, from either Curry Village (Half Dome village as they call it now) or Yosemite... More

Yes, but you might be carrying her for some of the way, and need to hold her hand at the steeper parts. Good views without having to go up the very last steeper dome part. Need hats and sunscreen too, plus water.
