This is a very scenic drive to high country. There are numerous stopping points and trail heads for all levels of hikers. From Yosemite valley to Tuolomne Meadows is about an hour and a half and worth every minute. Note, it is closed in winter...More

Don't miss this scenic drive. Toulomne Meadows, Ohlmstead Point and Tenaya Lake await you. I strongly recommend getting up there if you can!

We stayed in the west side of Yosemite and took Tioga Pass on our way to Lake Tahoe. What a beautiful drive! We really enjoyed our stop at Olmstead Point and looking through the ranger's scope to see the hikers on Half Dome. We also...More

The drive on Tioga Road to Tioga Pass and down to Lee Vining with the eerily beautiful Mono Lake is one of the most spectacular drives in the world, well worth the time, and where we take every European visitor who we bring to Yosemite.

The only reason Tioga Pass was crazy at the entrance this year was because of the late opening due to the heavy snow last winter. We are not expecting that kind of weather this year so you should be ok. HOWEVER, Tioga Road... More

Hi The median date for the seasonal closure is November 12th, but Tioga Road usually closes once or twice before that. When snow covers the road, it's closed. When it melts off, the road is reopened. When enough snow falls... More
