We drove this in our MH. The sites were great. We kept up with traffic but there's always that one tailgater who thinks you're going too slow. It's a scenic road. Everyone, look out the windows and enjoy the vuew.

So many spots to stop and take in the awesome sites. A lot less popular than the Valley and in many ways a completely different viewpoint of this truly spectacular area.

We drove in and out this way from Lee Vining. This is near the East entrance to the park. Stunning views of lakes and snow capped mountains. There was snow still on the ground. Altitude was approx 8000 feet so got pretty cold. Closed from...More

What more can be said about Yosemite? Amazing scenery, fresh crisp air, nice road and plenty of places to pull over. Traffic was fine when we drove through. Really great to take your time and stop. No matter where you stop it will be good....More

Tioga Pass tops out about 10,000 feet but the views are outstanding. Make sure you stop at all the Vista points to really soak it all in.

Tioga pass is about 10,000 feet with dramatic drop offs along the road. If you are confident of your driving, you should be fine. I've been on scarier roads. The long vistas with the road snaking along the side of the mountain are breathtaking in...More

Stunning, stunning, stunning! The drive was beautiful beyond and when we found snow in such heat, we were flabbergasted. Where else can you climb on snow in t-shirt and flip flops? Also teh rock formation and lakes along the drive are simply awe inspiring!

This way is the best and most spectacular to get to Yosemite Valley. Starting from Lee Vining (Mono Lake), you'll find snow (even in Summer), lakes to swim in, brave rivers, walking paths, and always dramatic views. Open only in Summer (approx. from May to...More

First of all - I would be sure to check the status of the road - it opened the 2nd week of July this year - had just opened when we were there. There was still snow on the side of the roads - but minimal. I think you will... More

Hi The median date for the seasonal closure is November 12th, but Tioga Road usually closes once or twice before that. When snow covers the road, it's closed. When it melts off, the road is reopened. When enough snow falls... More
